We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Abhishek “shake” Amiruddin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Abhishek “Shake”, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
How do I keep my creativity alive? Creativity can be a delicate and ever-evolving resource. As a creative entrepreneur, I approach it with intention and purpose, viewing it as a resource I channel into projects through Mastery Factory. Like any valuable resource, creativity is applied strategically where and when it’s most impactful. I’ve learned to keep it alive by applying it with intention and making sure it has a purpose. I also make a habit of jotting down any inspiration or random ideas that pop into my head. Keeping a collection of these ideas has become a core part of my process – it’s how I stay ready to bring creativity to life when the moment calls for it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a creative entrepreneur focused on building brands and experiences that inspire connection and creativity. My work spans across various industries – from crafting compelling campaigns for brands to producing events that bring people together. What excites me most about what I do is the opportunity to turn ideas into tangible experiences and help others bring their vision to life. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing how creativity can transform not just projects, but people’s perceptions and experiences. One thing I’d love folks to know about my work is that it’s driven by a deep commitment to quality and innovation. Every project I take on is rooted in originality, collaboration, and a genuine passion for pushing boundaries. Whether it’s through my brand Mastery Factory, which delivers custom visuals and creative solutions, or Forte Digital Club, which fosters a community of creators and builders, I’m always focused on elevating what’s possible. Right now, I’m excited about a few upcoming launches, including new campaigns, events, and creative services that I can’t wait to share. I’m also expanding into new markets and working on collaborative projects. The best is yet to come.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say three key qualities that had the most impact on my journey were adaptability, originality, and relationship-building. Adaptability is crucial because the creative landscape is always changing. Whether it’s new trends, tools, or challenges, being flexible and open to change has allowed me to stay ahead and keep pushing my ideas forward. For anyone starting out, I’d recommend embracing the mindset that no plan is ever set in stone—learn to pivot and experiment when needed. Originality has been a driving force in setting myself apart. Staying true to my voice, ideas, and creative approach has made my work stand out and feel authentic. For those early in their journey, I’d say focus on finding what makes you unique. Take time to explore, take risks, and don’t be afraid to go against the grain – that’s often where the magic happens. Finally, relationship-building has been a game-changer. Whether it’s collaborating with other creatives or working with clients, meaningful connections have opened countless doors for me. For those starting out, invest time in building your network and nurturing authentic relationships. Approach every interaction with curiosity and generosity – it goes a long way. If you’re early in your journey, don’t rush. Develop these skills over time by staying curious, seeking feedback, and putting yourself out there.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Breathe and breathe again. Being overwhelmed is bound to happen, just take a deep breathe and take it one step at a time.
