Delora, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Ever since I was a child, my parents showered me with compliments about my beauty. Their constant affirmations boosted my confidence and self-esteem as I grew older. Not only did my parents build me up, but strangers also contributed to my growing confidence by praising my looks. It was like a magical growth hormone for my self-assurance! However, as we age, our confidence can wane due to the negative opinions of jealous individuals who delight in picking apart our flaws. They project their own insecurities onto us, making us feel low and unattractive. I have personally encountered many people who took pleasure in tearing me down. But here’s the thing: when you truly know who you are and the value you bring, your confidence can bloom once again. It becomes difficult for anyone to tarnish it. By wholeheartedly believing in yourself, you can restore your confidence to the high level it once resided. Don’t let the opinions of unhappy people tarnish how you feel about yourself.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Yes indeed! Looking back I must say the 3 qualities, skills, and areas of knowledge had the most impact on my journey is this.
1. Leadership : A business owner needs a strong leadership quality to guide, inspire & set a clear vision for their company
2. Business Acumen: Business owners need a solid understanding of key business concepts such as finances, marketing, operations, & sales.
3. Adaptability & Problem Solving: Running a business often involves facing unexpected challenges and adapting to to rapidly changing circumstances.
My advice to upcoming business/brand owners is to learn themselves before committing to running a business, learn their qualities and capabilities ask yourself these questions.
Do I communicate effectively?
How am I with time management?
Can I negotiate?
Am I capable of building & maintaining strong relationships with clients and other business owners?
It’s important to not that these qualities, skills and areas of knowledge can be developed and improved overtime through experience, continuous learning, and seeking guidance from mentors and business coaches.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! We are always on the lookout for exciting collaborations with other businesses in the fashion industry. In the past, we have attempted to collaborate with a few, but unfortunately, some chose to prioritize popularity over talent.
However, we firmly believe that being popular does not necessarily equate to good quality. That’s why we are now open to collaborating with local businesses and brands, as our aim is to bring awareness and expand our audience.
