Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Constance Perry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Constance, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
For me, self-care is about more than just rest – it’s about restoration. It’s creating space to slow down, reflect, and realign with God’s purpose for my life. This belief is what led me to start Raphah Candle Co.
The word “raphah” means “to be still” or “to let go,” and I learned the power of stillness when I hit a season of burnout, frustration, and exhaustion. I had spent so much time doing and achieving that I had neglected the most important thing – being in God’s presence. That’s when I knew I had to shift my priorities.
Now, self-care is woven into my daily life. I prioritize spiritual renewal through time with God, whether in prayer, Bible study, or moments of stillness. I take care of my body by exercising, nourishing myself, and resting well. I also protect my peace by setting boundaries, taking weekly sabbaths, and allowing myself time to recharge.
This commitment to self-care has made me more effective in every area of my life. I no longer operate from a place of exhaustion – I create, lead, and serve from a place of wholeness. Through Raphah Candle Co., my mission is to help other women do the same: to slow down, heal in God’s presence, and walk confidently in their purpose. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity for fulfilling what God has called us to do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m the founder of Raphah Candle Co., a faith-based brand that creates candles and body care products designed to help women slow down, rest, and heal in God’s presence. Raphah means “to be still” or “to let go,” and this brand was born out of my own journey of learning to prioritize self-care, stillness, and faith after a season of burnout.
What excites me most about Raphah Candle Co. is that it’s more than just a product-based business—it’s a mission. Each candle is intentionally crafted with fragrances that create a peaceful atmosphere, reminding women to pause and reconnect with God. Whether it’s lighting a candle during quiet time, incorporating body oils into a self-care routine, or simply embracing stillness, I want my products to serve as tools that encourage women to prioritize their well-being.
I’m currently focused on expanding the brand and deepening its impact. This year, I’m launching a few more products, these will be multi-sensory experiences such as journals, planners, and other tools designed to help women stay aligned with their faith and goals without falling into the trap of busyness.
Long-term, I envision Raphah Candle Co. growing beyond products—I want to create a retreat space with a spa, where women can step away from the noise of life, experience true rest, and realign with God’s purpose. Everything I do is about helping women find peace, healing, and clarity, and I’m excited to see how this mission continues to unfold.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
With all the hats we wear as entrepreneurs, it’s impossible to be an expert in everything, but I’ve found that the three qualities that have grounded me and provided a strong foundation for growth are attention to detail, care for customers, and integrity.
1. Attention to Detail – I believe excellence is in the details. Whether it’s the quality of my products, the packaging, or the experience I create for my customers, I strive to make sure every aspect of my brand reflects intentionality. My advice? Be meticulous about your craft. The small things add up and set you apart in a crowded market.
2. Care for Customers – People don’t just buy products; they invest in experiences and relationships. I genuinely care about the women who support Raphah Candle Co., and I want my brand to be a source of peace and encouragement in their lives. For new entrepreneurs, I’d say: Listen to your customers. Engage with them, understand their needs, and create products or services that truly serve them.
3. Integrity – I believe in running my business with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to doing things the right way, even when no one is watching. Trust is everything. My advice? Build your brand on values that align with who you are. When people know they can trust you, they’ll support you for the long haul.
These qualities have helped me create a business that’s not just about selling products, but about building something meaningful. When you focus on excellence, people, and integrity, growth becomes a natural byproduct.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth this past year has been my mindset shift. Last year, I spent a lot of time doubting myself—wondering if my product was good enough, feeling frustrated that I wasn’t further along, and constantly comparing my journey to others. But over time, I realized that growth isn’t about rushing to a destination; it’s about trusting the process.
Now, I’m more patient with the journey and confident in God’s timing. I no longer feel the need to force opportunities or question whether I’m where I’m supposed to be. I trust that every door meant for me will open at the right time, and that has given me a deep sense of peace and contentment.
This shift has made me a better entrepreneur because I no longer operate from a place of fear or lack—I create, build, and grow from a place of faith and assurance. Learning to embrace the process has freed me to enjoy it, and that has been one of the most valuable lessons of my journey.
