Meet Pedro Blanco

We recently connected with Pedro Blanco and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Pedro, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Where do I get my resilience from… That’s an interesting question! I’m not entirely sure, however resilience can come from different places—maybe it’s a mix of past experiences, inner strength, and the support you get from the people around you. I’m very in tune with myself and I have an inner FIRE within me that makes me want to succeed, WIN and OVERCOME! Obviously, there are days where I feel tiny, defeated, tired and out of energy, but that’s okay. I know that those feelings will pass and there will be another day. As long as you show up for yourself, the opportunity to prevail will present itself. I have a saying that I coined and this will only make sense if you’re a child of the 80’s, you only get one quarter to play so make it count! (did you see what I did there?)

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I wear many hats both personally and professionally. I’m a supportive partner to an inspiring woman and a guiding figure to her remarkable young lady. In addition to these roles, I’m passionate about cooking, I’m a Cricut enthusiast, and a self-taught musician. I also take pride in being a responsible and engaged global citizen.

As an IT professional, I specialize in navigating the complexities of technology, tackling the challenges that arise from computer systems. My natural inclination as a thinker, tinkerer, and problem solver drives me to continuously explore new ideas. This mindset has led me to develop a wide array of hobbies, each of which feeds my passion for life and creativity.

One of my greatest passions is digital photography and art, where my technical expertise and creativity come together. I’m always striving to improve by drawing inspiration from the exceptional talent around me. I’m captivated by the innovative approaches others take, which often spark fresh ideas and questions in my mind: What if I tried this technique? Or that? What’s a new way to approach this? Creativity, to me, is all about building on the work of others, much like musicians who borrow from one another—same notes, but with a different feeling, a new rhythm.

With all the tools at my disposal, I’m constantly excited to see where my creativity will take me next. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see what I’ll create in the future.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1-Being Open to Learn and Grow, Both Professionally and Emotionally
Growth is not just about acquiring new skills—it’s about evolving as a person. Being open to learning in both professional and emotional spheres helps individuals stay adaptable, empathetic, and capable of overcoming challenges. This growth mindset fosters resilience in the face of adversity and the capacity to learn from both successes and failures. It’s about understanding that emotional intelligence and professional development go hand in hand and that there’s always room to learn from every experience.

2-Problem Solving
Problem-solving is a core skill that goes beyond simply finding answers. It involves the ability to identify and define issues clearly, think critically about possible solutions, and assess the best path forward. Effective problem solvers approach challenges with an open mind, use creativity to explore multiple perspectives, and focus on delivering long-term, sustainable solutions. They balance analytical thinking with a keen understanding of human behavior and context, ensuring that solutions are not only practical but also viable in real-world applications.

3-Building Frameworks to Tackle Problems
Building frameworks involves creating structured approaches to address complex issues. This skill is about setting clear processes that guide decision-making and problem-solving, making it easier to break down large challenges into manageable steps. A well-designed framework can help organize thoughts, prioritize tasks, and offer a roadmap for consistent execution. By establishing repeatable systems, you ensure that you’re addressing not just the immediate problem but also setting the stage for addressing future challenges more effectively.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m currently seeking individuals who are interested in creating visually captivating images. Whether you have a unique concept you’d like to bring to life or are looking to collaborate on fresh, innovative projects, I would love to connect. I have a passion for working across various styles of photography, including portraits, headshots, lifestyle, and fashion. With the right tools and equipment at my disposal, along with a creative mindset, I’m confident in my ability to help bring your vision to fruition.

If you’re interested in collaborating, I invite you to reach out via my website. I’d be thrilled to discuss potential ideas and explore how we can work together. I’m excited to hear your thoughts and look forward to the opportunity to collaborate!
