Meet Yana Liner

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yana Liner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Yana, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Confidence and self-esteem come from a mix of skill, experience, and mindset. For me, it started with a deep focus on quality—pushing myself to improve, perfecting every line, and being honest about my strengths and weaknesses.

Over time, confidence grows naturally when you see the impact of your work—how clients react, how your designs live on skin, how your name carries weight. I also believe in delegation: focusing on what I do best and letting specialists handle what they excel at. It allows me to fully immerse myself in my craft without distractions.

At the core of it all, I trust that the right people, opportunities, and growth will come when I set a clear intention. Confidence isn’t about being perfect; it’s about knowing that every step forward builds something greater.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a professional tattoo artist based in Los Angeles, specializing in fine line realism and minimalist designs. Each session is more than just a tattoo—it’s a moment of connection, where precision, creativity, and atmosphere come together to shape something one-of-a-kind.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I would say precision, emotional intuition, and adaptability are the core of my work as a tattoo artist.

Precision – Fine line tattooing requires absolute control. Every stroke must be clean, consistent, and deliberate, especially in minimalist designs where even the smallest imperfection stands out.

Emotional intuition – A session is more than just a tattoo; it’s about the connection in that moment. Reading the client’s energy, making them feel at ease, and creating the right atmosphere is just as important as the technical execution.

Adaptability – No two sessions are the same. Adjusting designs on the spot, working with different skin types, and refining my technique based on the flow of each session ensures the best possible result.

These three elements shape not just the quality of my tattoos but the entire experience of getting one.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always open to collaborations as long as the terms are mutually beneficial. I often work with bloggers and influencers and am primarily interested in creating content that allows more people to discover our work. For me, tattooing isn’t just about business—it’s also about creativity. I genuinely enjoy working on artistic projects and collaborations that bring something fresh and inspiring to the table.
