We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maelin Bereal a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Maelin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
To begin with, I get my resilience from GOD…
On January 7, 2025, my family and I lost our home due to the Eaton Canyon Fire. We evacuated around 8 p.m. to a family member’s house. However, when we went back to our own home the next morning, EVERYTHING was gone.
The home we once made memories in, grew in, and built our businesses in, was all gone to ash…
This time for me and my family was VERY challenging. Yet, GOD kept us. When everyone else was in sorrow and depression, mourning what they had lost, GOD let us be joyful EVEN IN the hardest of times and helped us to keep walking.
So, in my own strength, my resilience is very low…yet, with GOD, HE keeps me going. HE keeps my head held up high when my soul wants to look low. HE has been my help in trouble…HE is my everything and so much more.

In 2021, GOD gave me the idea for a hair and body care business called Blessed Beautifully—a business designed for HIS GLORY and to benefit MANY people around the world.
In the beginning of building this business, I did NOT know how to create cosmetic products. I struggled for a long time, yet, GOD has helped me, given me recipes, showed me visions, and led me to where I am now on my path of entrepreneurship.
What makes this business different from most is the purpose behind it…With Blessed Beautifully, I aim to spread The Gospel to all the world! Giving light in dark places and reminding people that GOD IS and IS TO COME.
As of now, I am currently taking things slow due to me and my family’s recovery from the fire. However, I have NOT given up on the business GOD gave me and I don’t ever plan to.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
A few areas of knowledge that are very important in life and in a person’s path of entrepreneurship is walking with GOD, having an ear for GOD, and obeying HIS Voice.
Without these three things, you are likely to fail. Whether it be spiritually or physically, GOD is THE ONE who helps you to succeed in life and in spirit.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
To answer this question, GOD has been THE MOST HELPFUL in helping me overcome challenges.
The Eaton Canyon Fire was a MAJOR challenge and turning point for my life and my family’s…
We went from having a home one day to being homeless the next…We went from Airbnb to Airbnb, moving here and moving there. Yet, through it all, GOD has KEPT our MINDS, kept our heart, and kept us joyful even in the midst of trial.
So, I do thank GOD. For EVERYTHING HE’s done for us. HE’s been our EVER PRESENT HELP in the storm and has truly helped us to keep going.
