Meet Della Washington

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Della Washington. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Della, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I got my work ethics from my father, never be late and always show up. Be a team player and support the people you work with and to be a leader.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Della was born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in nearby Madison. She has worn many hats but most currently, has taken on the title of “engineer” with her HeavyFoot Weight company.

She is a published poem writer and song writer via her position at Pacific Data Images/Dream Works in Pal Alto, CA.; an entrepreneur; member of the American Bar Association; a legislative bill author; a Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center Milestone Circles Participant; and nominated Microenterprise Business of the Year Award for 2025 by the SBA. As a patient herself, she is a Patient Advocate and Spokesperson for Chicago-based Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.

She earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and Management as well as her M.S. in Legal Studies from Purdue Global University and has her Masters Criminal Justice Homeland Security from Southern New Hampshire University.

HeavyFoot Weight is the safety product I invented in 2019.

Pin Points & Solution:
“Many rental companies and event organizers struggle with securing inflatables, especially in windy conditions. Traditional sandbags and stakes can be unreliable, leading to safety risks. HeavyFoot Weight is specifically designed to provide a stable and secure anchoring system, preventing inflatables from becoming airborne and ensuring safety for everyone involved.”
Key Benefits:
“Our product offers several advantages over traditional solutions:”
• Provides superior stabilization for inflatables and tents.
• Prevents injuries or damage caused by wind-related accidents.
• Easy to use, portable, and convenient—saving setup time.
• A durable, long-lasting metal construction designed for repeated use.
Product Features:
“The HeavyFoot Weight is made of sturdy metal and comes in various weight options (5-40 lbs). It features a secure latch system and an anchoring post to keep inflatables safely in place. Plus, the top arch-shaped loop allows for a firm rope attachment, adding extra security.”
Call to Action:
“We currently have prototypes available for demonstration, and we’d love for you to try one out. Would you be interested in a VIP Virtual Invention Presentation to see how the HeavyFoot Weight can enhance your setup? We also have a patent on the product, ensuring exclusivity in the market.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I have always been looked at by others as a leader, creative and always wanting to solve problems to make things better.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m looking for the military, retailers and bounce house companies to look at safety first. We are also looking for investors and companies to build a partnership with and also schools and government entities, example: DOT and DOD. I can be reached by email at, HeavyFootWeight.com
