We recently connected with Kris Rosenblum and have shared our conversation below.
Kris, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I’ve always known that my life’s purpose was to help people. Even as a child, I had a strong sense of this, though I imagined it unfolding in a very different way. I once thought I would become a natural healer, but life took me down another path—into financial services. Now, I own my own business, preparing taxes for 400-500 clients.
However, over the past three years, burnout has crept in. This led me to start a nonprofit dedicated to helping people heal from trauma through creative therapy. It has been a slow but meaningful journey, and as I move forward, I want to merge my financial expertise with my creative work to offer a truly holistic healing experience.
Too often, when we talk about whole-body healing, we overlook the financial aspect. Yet, financial security—or the lack of it—is one of the biggest sources of stress and fear for most people. Addressing financial well-being alongside emotional and creative healing is essential, and I am passionate about bridging this gap.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am also an artist, and I know firsthand how powerful creativity can be in the healing process. Having experienced significant trauma throughout my life, I’ve discovered that art is not just an outlet—it’s a tool for transformation. Too often, when we talk about whole-body healing, we overlook the financial aspect. Yet, financial security—or the lack of it—is one of the biggest sources of stress and fear for most people. My Non Profit is in the baby stages but it is called Kris’s House of Hope. I teach currently teach seniors once a week how to paint for relaxation and its therapeutic benefits. I am also launching a project to get seniors artwork out in the public to help with their costs of care in their retirement years.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Resilience – The Ability to Keep Going Despite Setbacks
Life doesn’t go as planned. I thought I would be a natural healer, yet I found myself in financial services. I faced burnout, challenges, and personal trauma, but resilience kept me moving forward. It allowed me to pivot and create something meaningful—combining finance, art, and healing.
Advice:
• Learn to see setbacks as lessons rather than failures.
• Develop a mindset that embraces growth, even in difficult times.
• Surround yourself with supportive people who remind you why you started.
2. Adaptability – Embracing Change and New Possibilities
I never imagined that my financial background would merge with creative therapy, but the ability to adapt opened doors. If I had resisted change, I wouldn’t have discovered my true calling.
Advice:
• Stay open to new opportunities, even if they don’t fit your original plan.
• Keep learning—whether it’s through courses, mentors, or hands-on experience.
• Accept that growth often requires stepping outside of your comfort zone.
3. Creative Problem-Solving – Seeing Beyond the Obvious
Creativity isn’t just about making art, it’s about finding solutions in unconventional ways. Whether it was helping clients manage financial fears or using art to heal trauma, thinking outside the box made all the difference.
Advice:
• Challenge yourself to see problems from multiple angles.
• Engage in creative activities, even if you don’t consider yourself “artistic.”
• Trust your instincts innovation often comes from intuition.
For those just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is this: Follow what excites you, even if it doesn’t seem to fit a traditional mold. Life has a way of weaving your skills, passions, and experiences together in ways you never expected. Keep going, keep learning, and most importantly, keep creating.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful things my parents did for me came in pieces—small but meaningful lessons that shaped who I am today, despite a childhood filled with turmoil.
My father was mostly absent during my early years, but as I got older, he taught me about nature and plants. He showed me how to identify them and understand their properties, which planted the seeds (literally and figuratively) for my deep appreciation of the natural world. Those moments gave me a sense of grounding, curiosity, and connection to something bigger than myself.
My mother struggled with severe alcoholism, and that was a difficult reality to navigate as a child. But in my early years, she gave me two invaluable gifts—a love for reading and the arts. She introduced me to books, creativity, and self-expression, which became an escape and, later, a form of healing. Without realizing it, she set the foundation for my passion for creative therapy and storytelling.
Despite the struggles, these pieces of wisdom—nature, creativity, and learning—became the guiding forces in my life. They helped me find meaning in chaos, heal through expression, and build something beautiful out of hardship.
