Meet Amy Elizabeth

We recently connected with Amy Elizabeth and have shared our conversation below.

Amy, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

There has been many things that led me to finding my purpose. From early childhood I had to learn resilience and how to make my way on my own with lack of love and support from family. Becoming a single parent young and having to leave an abusive marriage, I found purpose in the eyes of two little girls who needed their mother to love them and keep them safe. I found my purpose was to help others after experiencing what felt like a lifetime of trauma and poor treatment. Uplifting people who have experienced trauma or who struggle with their mental health not only has became my passion but a career, outside of music. Stepping into the music world for self expression, creating events that uplift others creativity (like Tuckerton Porchfest and other projects that highlight women in the arts), and making a difference in my community by serving through way of music at my church every week and organizing things for the entire family to attend has led me to have some of the most incredible experiences in my life and provided me a sense of purpose I never knew I would feel. What also helps me keep my purpose is an almost delusional belief in myself and surrounding myself with friends and people in the community who support my goals.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a multifaceted artist and community leader whose dynamic talents span music, event organizing, writing, and poetry. My passion for music has been a defining trait since childhood, showcased through competitive performances, musical theater roles, and leading worship services. In 2022, I joined forces with some great musicians and formed the Amy Elizabeth Band, creating original indie rock tracks. Our first single Tell Me Where it Hurts was release in 2024 with more music set to debut soon. Our eclectic sound resonates with audiences, leaving a lasting impression. Influences include Paramore, No Doubt, Alanis Morisette, Jefferson Airplane, Amy Winehouse, and Jackie Venson.

I was nominated in multiple categories at the Elephant Talk Indie Music Awards and won for Community Musician of the year due to my work with Tuckerton Porchfest. Elephant Talk is a music festival that benefits Elephants for Autism organized by Jerry Ryan. Being a part of this festival is so thrilling and it allows me to give back to a community who is under served. The next three day long festival is April 11-13 2025 at Tennessee Beer Hall in Atlantic City NJ with another awards show in October of 2025.

Beyond my personal musical achievements, I am a passionate advocate for the arts. I organize events that highlight original music and celebrate creative talent, such as Tuckerton Porchfest, a lively arts and music festival, Creative Local Ladies, an initiative uplifting women in the arts, and the Bicycles and Art series at Beach Bike Warehouse in Ocean City NJ, blending local music and visual arts into unforgettable community experiences.

With boundless energy and dedication, I plan to continue to inspire and uplift the local arts scene. I have a few event projects that are coming up. On Wednesday February 26 I created a new showcase called Small Town Sounds at LBI National Golf & Resort in Little Egg Harbor highlighting local original artists and this will be first in an on going series. This is a free event.
Another project on Friday March 21, the third show in its series, the Creative Local Ladies: showcasing women in the arts. This event is taking place at the Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton NJ. The Lizzie Rose Music Room is a Non profit listening room that is held in a renovated 1860’s Victorian house in the heart of Tuckerton. This is a ticketed event and tickets can be purchased at www.lizzierosemusic.com
Tuckerton Porchfest is a free community event and is scheduled for Saturday May 31 from 11:00am-4:00pm (rain date Sunday June 1) There will be 7 porch locations on Main Street in Tuckerton NJ, over 40 acts (including the local elementary school chorus), live visual art, and local artisan vendors.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

One quality that I have is persistence. When I want something to happen, there is little that can stand in my way of achieving what I set my mind to do and if there is a mountain in the way, I aim to find a way around it. Another quality that has been impactful on my journey in this life is this almost delusional belief of being successful when it comes to in myself, my music, and my events. I have learned in a life that offered me limited encouragement and support to show up for myself and for others the way I wanted people to show up for me. A third quality that I have is the ability to bring people together. I have heard many people say this about me and that it was brought this quality that I posses to my line of vision My communication, organization, and ability to cooperatively collaborate with other people makes me an effective leader and aides in bringing people and things together for a common goal.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would love to collaborate with other event organizers in my area and beyond whose visions align with mine and want to uplift people in the arts.I would love to collaborate and work for with a company plans and organizes event. I would love to collaborate musically with other artists, write songs, and record. I would love to collaborate with other bands on shows in my area.
