We recently connected with Bekky Warczak and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Bekky with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Our family struggled financially growing up. If I wanted something, I learned quickly that I would have to earn it myself. I started working consistently while still in middle school and have always worked as full time as possible. Many of my jobs were in the customer service field and there is not an option to be lazy in those positions. I think the combination of those two things have really made me into a “go getter.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I love to photograph High School Seniors and local Families! I think that Gen Z and Alpha have a lot of great insight into today’s world and how the future of our society operate. I love that they value authenticity and being positive.
When I’m talking to perspective clients about BLP, I like to stress that while they will walk away from our time together feeling prepared, I will model being stress free and comfortable to help them enjoy the entire process.
Along with High School Seniors and Families, I have a Spokesmodel Team of high school girls. While they enjoy all of the fun photoshoots we do, they’ll also get to make new friends and be loved and supported by a group of girls that they may not have otherwise gotten to know.
BLP is involved in supporting our local Habitat for Humanity. Whether it’s photographing one of their events or having the Spokesmodel Team lend a hand, we believe in helping out those who need it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In my photography journey, I really learned that as much as I love photography, it’s more about what I can help my client out with. How I can give them a great experience. How I can help them look back on our time as a positive and not a regret.
I’ve also learned that just because I like to work with clients, not everyone is my client and not ever niche is for me. I have discovered through experience what areas I really enjoy photographing and what genres I will leave alone. I think it’s important to be a master of a few areas versus a jack of all trades, so to speak.
Having great communication skills is a must for a photographer! Taking the actual photos is just one small part of owning your own business and working with clients. It’s important to be able to communicate to your clients what they get, how to process works, how to professionally answer any questions they have, etc.
It’s so important to remember that there is so much to learn when running a photography business! I definitely got overwhelmed in the beginning trying to learn it all at once. When I broke it down into manageable priorities, I realized how fun it could be and love that there is always a new challenge and things to learn!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Through education classes I’ve taken, I have gotten to know some amazing and very talented photographers! They are the first people I go to when I have a question or don’t know how to handle a situation or need ideas on a certain aspect of my business. It’s very important to me to prioritize community, not competition. I think we all win when we can use strengths that others may have that we don’t have. These individuals have also become some of my biggest cheerleaders and vice versa in regard to business and my personal life. They’ve become friends whose input is priceless!
