Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nayips Constantini. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Nayips, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I wouldn’t say I developed confidence—I always had the skills, the dedication, and the ability to excel in many areas. However, for years, I was in an environment surrounded by narcissistic and egotistical people who suppressed my confidence. Without understanding what was happening, I wasn’t fully self-aware of how much this was affecting me.
It wasn’t until after my separation that I started searching for answers about the patterns in my life. That journey led to a moment of enlightenment—finally recognizing the root of my self-sabotage and truly understanding my worth. That realization marked the end of doubt and the beginning of true self-awareness and confidence.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At Grays Ferry Coffee, we don’t just roast coffee—we craft experiences. Our brand was born out of a passion for quality and an obsession with the art of coffee. We believe that coffee should be more than just a daily routine; it should be an experience that excites your senses and fuels your day with purpose.
What makes Grays Ferry Coffee special is our commitment to handcrafted, artisan roasting. Unlike mass-produced coffee, we take the time to source high-quality beans from around the world and roast them in small batches right here in South Philadelphia. Each roast is carefully developed to bring out the unique flavors of the beans, ensuring that every cup tells a story.
One of the most exciting things about our brand is that we are always evolving. We started with bold, specialty coffee blends like Supreme Winner and Insomnia Coffee, but now, we’re expanding into something new—a smoky twist on the classic Chilean pebre sauce. Inspired by the rich culinary traditions of my Chilean roots, this sauce is unlike anything currently on the market, bringing an innovative and flavorful addition to our lineup.
At our core, Grays Ferry Coffee is about passion, resilience, and authenticity. As a small, minority, and LGBT-owned business, we know what it means to push through challenges and carve out a space in a competitive industry. We’re here to offer something real—coffee that’s crafted with care, flavors that surprise and inspire, and a brand that values community and connection.
Whether you’re looking for a coffee that truly wakes you up or a new culinary experience, Grays Ferry Coffee is here to bring bold flavors to your life. Stay tuned for our upcoming product launches, and if you haven’t tried our coffee yet—now’s the time!
Life’s too short for bad coffee. Better try Grays Ferry Coffee.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three key qualities and skills that had the most impact on my journey are resilience, adaptability, and strategic thinking. Each played a crucial role in shaping my career, from my background as an Agricultural Engineer to my experience as a former Director in a consulting company, and even in launching Grays Ferry Coffee as a global-minded entrepreneur.
Resilience – Success isn’t just about talent; it’s about persistence. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced setbacks, whether in business, career shifts, or navigating new markets. The ability to push forward, especially in challenging environments, has been essential. My advice: Get comfortable with uncertainty. Treat failures as lessons rather than defeats, and always keep moving forward.
Adaptability – Having traveled the world and worked across different industries, I’ve learned that the ability to pivot and embrace change is invaluable. Markets evolve, industries shift, and what works today might not work tomorrow. My advice: Stay open to learning, expose yourself to new ideas, and never get too comfortable with what you know. The more adaptable you are, the more opportunities you’ll see.
Strategic Thinking – Whether in consulting, engineering, or business, the ability to analyze, plan, and execute with precision has been a game-changer. Understanding market trends, customer needs, and financial sustainability has allowed me to navigate business decisions effectively. My advice: Develop a problem-solving mindset. Instead of reacting emotionally to challenges, step back, analyze the bigger picture, and act strategically.
For those starting their journey, my biggest recommendation is to invest in experiences that challenge you—travel, work in different industries, take on leadership roles, and never stop learning. The more diverse your experiences, the stronger your foundation for success.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
As an agricultural engineer, former director in consulting, and world traveler, I’ve navigated diverse landscapes—both in business and in life. Much like The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, my journey has been one of exploration, curiosity, and the search for deeper meaning.
The book teaches us that ‘what is essential is invisible to the eye,’ a lesson that resonates deeply with my path. Success isn’t just about strategy or expertise; it’s about passion, resilience, and seeing beyond the obvious. Whether growing a business, crafting the perfect coffee, or guiding others, I believe in creating with heart, leading with vision, and never losing the wonder of discovery.
