Meet Jenil Mehta

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenil Mehta. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jenil , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Finding my purpose has been an evolving journey, shaped by both creative exploration and professional growth. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of storytelling—how a simple narrative, paired with the right visuals and sound, could evoke deep emotions and connect people across different backgrounds. This fascination led me to experiment with photography, videography, and sound mixing, trying to understand how each element contributes to the bigger picture of storytelling.

As I pursued filmmaking more seriously, especially during my time at the New York Film Academy, I realized that it wasn’t just the technical skills or the creative process that excited me—it was the ability to bring ideas to life and collaborate with others who shared the same passion. Working on short films and aerial cinematography projects exposed me to the magic of teamwork and the importance of effective communication in a creative environment. These experiences not only refined my craft but also solidified my belief that storytelling, in any form, has the power to inspire, educate, and connect.

Parallel to my creative journey, I discovered a deep interest in marketing. Initially, it seemed like a separate path, but I quickly realized that marketing is, in its own way, another form of storytelling. Whether it’s crafting a brand narrative, designing a campaign, or engaging with an audience, marketing requires the same creativity and strategic thinking that filmmaking does. My role as Head of Marketing for companies like ThinkAerial Autonomous Systems and DRONACHARYA AVIATION allowed me to merge my creative instincts with business acumen. I found joy in developing innovative strategies, optimizing campaigns, and seeing measurable results—all while applying the same storytelling techniques I use in film.

Over time, I noticed that the common thread in all my pursuits—whether it’s filmmaking, sound mixing, aerial cinematography, or marketing—was the desire to connect with people and create meaningful experiences. My entrepreneurial ventures, like leading Mehta Productions and JD Marketers, gave me the platform to blend these passions, lead diverse teams, and build relationships that go beyond just business.

Ultimately, finding my purpose wasn’t about choosing one path over another; it was about embracing the intersection of creativity and strategy. I realized that my purpose lies in using my skills to inspire others, drive impactful projects, and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible in both the creative and business worlds. Every project I take on, whether behind the camera or in the boardroom, is an opportunity to tell a story, spark an emotion, and make a difference. And that’s what keeps me passionate and driven every day.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I possess a profound enthusiasm for the integration of creativity and strategy, a sentiment that is evident in both my filmmaking and marketing endeavors. As a filmmaker, aerial cinematographer, and sound mixer, I am dedicated to crafting narratives that evoke profound emotional responses in audiences. Whether I’m combining sound to create an immersive experience or filming a scene from above with a drone, I enjoy how each component of cinema can take viewers into another universe. My tenure at the New York Film Academy has been instrumental in honing these skills, enabling me to engage in a variety of projects and collaborate with exceptionally talented creatives from across the globe.

What captivates me most about the art of filmmaking is the capacity to integrate technology with narrative construction. For example, aerial cinematography offers a whole fresh viewpoint not usually possible in conventional filmmaking. It facilitates dynamic, expansive views that enhance the visual narrative, both literally and figuratively. Beyond the technical aspect, however, the cooperative approach is what really distinguishes filmmaking for me. Every project is a team effort; what inspires me is working with driven people who contribute unique abilities and viewpoints.

On the flip side of my profession, marketing excites me equally. At my current position as Head of Marketing, I develop and implement cutting-edge digital marketing strategies for clients like ThinkAerial Autonomous Systems Pvt. Ltd. and DRONACHARYA AVIATION PRIVATE LIMITED. The always changing aspect of marketing thrills me. Marketing is about more than simply making a buck; it’s also about connecting with consumers on a deeper level, developing brands that resonate with them, and achieving tangible success. Good marketing, in my opinion, is just another kind of storytelling; this perspective has allowed me to combine strategic and artistic elements.

Currently concentrating on growing both businesses, I am the CEO of Mehta Productions and the creator of JD Marketers. Working on fresh film projects that challenge creative limits, investigate many genres, and test unique cinematography methods excites Mehta Productions. To bring varied tales to life, we are also investigating joint projects with different directors and production companies.

JD Marketers is extending its digital offerings in the marketing field to provide more complete solutions for companies trying to have more of an online influence. From content production and SEO techniques to social media marketing, we are assisting companies in effectively telling their stories that appeal to their target markets.

Whether in film or marketing, my aim is to produce work that not only looks amazing but also has an effect. Pushing artistic limits, building deep connections, and never stopping to wonder excite me. I’m looking forward sharing more soon; there are a lot of fantastic projects and partnerships in development!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, adaptability, collaboration, and strategic creativity three main traits and talents have had the most influence on my path.

1. flexibility
In marketing as much as in filmmaking, flexibility in new technology and circumstances has been very vital. Whether it’s an unexpected change in a filming schedule, new software upgrades, or changing market trends, in the creative realm things never go as planned. Being flexible implies being open to change, learning fast, and, when problems develop, finding answers.

counsel: Early on their path, I would advise accepting pain and seeing obstacles as chances for personal development. Try new instruments, investigate many careers in your profession, and don’t hesitate to go beyond your comfort zone. Your will be more ready for the unanticipated turns life presents the more adaptable you are.

2. Coordination and Transmission
Filmmaking is by nature a group artistic medium. Every project I have worked on has been a team effort; learning to successfully interact with others—from a director to a marketing client—has been priceless. In marketing, too, producing outcomes depends on establishing relationships with customers, knowing their requirements, and matching team members.

guidance: Here, my main advise is to listen as much as you talk. Recognize the points of view of your team members, appreciate their efforts, and create a setting in which everyone feels heard. Good communication fosters trust and enduring connections that will benefit you all through your career, not just helps projects go successfully.

Three: Strategic Creativity
Though my work is mostly creative, combining that ability with a strategic viewpoint has changed everything. In marketing as much as in filmmaking, it’s not just about having brilliant ideas—it’s also about understanding how to carry them out successfully and match them with more general objectives. This harmony between creative vision and pragmatic approach has enabled me to produce work with great resonance for viewers.

Counsel: Always question yourself why you are doing anything and who it is for to grow in this. Whether you are planning a marketing campaign or working on a film scene, consider the larger picture and how your effort advances the overarching narrative or goal. Your work will be both significant and successful if you gradually begin to organically mix purpose with creativity.

For everyone beginning their journey, keep in mind that these abilities evolve over time with experience, introspection, and a readiness for personal development. Never stop learning; you will be astonished at how far you can go if you remain inquiring, receptive to criticism, and open.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Certainly! I am consistently enthusiastic about engaging with impassioned and innovative individuals and professionals who are keen to collaborate and actualize distinctive ideas. Regardless of whether your expertise lies in filmmaking, aerial cinematography, sound design, or digital marketing, I am receptive to collaborating with individuals who are motivated by innovation, narrative development, and an aspiration to expand creative frontiers.

In the realm of filmmaking, I possess a keen interest in collaborating with storytellers who are delving into innovative genres or experimental methodologies, as well as those who present captivating narratives that could be enhanced by a novel visual or auditory approach. Working with individuals who regard storytelling as more than simply a series of events—who consider it as a means of connecting with audiences on a deeper level—is really fascinating. Whether via unusual stories, cutting-edge photography, or creative soundscapes, I like working with filmmakers pushing the boundaries.

I am always on the lookout for collaboration possibilities with other drone enthusiasts and professionals that share my enthusiasm for capturing unique views on the world via my work as an aerial cinematographer. Any production may have a dynamic, dramatic aspect added by aerial views, and working with others in this sector provides many creative opportunities. Investigating how aerial images could improve a narrative excites me whether it’s for movies, ads, or special events.

Regarding sound design and mixing, I would be keen to interact with people committed to create immersive audio environments. The emotional tone of any production is greatly shaped by sound, hence I am always eager to collaborate with people who are dedicated to stretching the possibilities of what sound can do in cinema, live events, or multimedia projects.

From the marketing standpoint, I would like to work with companies and experts striving to create creative digital campaigns and tactics. I like helping companies create real stories that appeal to their customers as I see marketing as simply another kind of storytelling. Working with teams that appreciate creativity and strategic thinking in equal measure excites me whether it is in content production, campaign development, or brand strategy.

I also welcome working with production companies and startups trying to combine smart marketing with creative storytelling to create a powerful brand presence. Having worked in both disciplines has showed me how potent this mix can be, and it excites me to be working with like-minded people eager to have a significant influence.
