We recently connected with Erin R and have shared our conversation below.
Erin, so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.
Running my own business while supporting several other successful independent businesses has taught me the importance of compartmentalizing roles and embracing what I call a ‘mentor-manager moment.’ I act as my own mental manager, stepping back to assess situations objectively. Giving myself permission to pause and process has been one of the hardest lessons to learn—but also the most valuable. Over time, I’ve realized that this intentional step back is what truly pushes us forward. For me, effective communication comes from that clarity—knowing when to lead, when to listen, and when to trust ourselves to make the right move.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
my focus remains on delivering concierge-level care—a seamless, personalized experience that prioritizes your time and unique needs. From expert facials and skincare solutions to brows, body waxing, and gel mani/pedis, every service is designed with a Fitzpatrick-friendly approach, a commitment to inclusive care ensuring everyone feels seen, safe, and celebrated.
As a salon owner and industry professional, I am dedicated to fostering growth within the cosmetology community. Beyond client care, I offer consulting and brainstorming services to help independent artists build sustainable businesses, refine their techniques, and implement systems that create ease and efficiency. Creating a space where both clients and professionals feel supported is at the heart of my work, and I’m passionate about sharing the knowledge and experience that have allowed me to build a business rooted in both passion and purpose.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful areas in my journey as an independent business owner have been creating structure, building strong relationships, and maintaining a clear long-term vision. Business is a formula—having strong systems in place has allowed me to create consistency, efficiency, and growth without burnout. Prioritizing genuine connections with clients has fostered loyalty and trust, turning first-time clients into lifelong relationships. And a clear long-term vision has kept me adaptable and proactive, ensuring that every decision aligns with sustainable success. These are the foundations I help other independent professionals refine so they can build thriving, self-sustaining businesses.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m passionate about partnering with small business owners—both in the salon industry and beyond—to create intentional strategies that support sustainable growth. Through one-on-one and group training, I offer a space for brainstorming, marketing strategy, and structured support to ease the loneliness of entrepreneurship. If you’re looking for a collaborative sounding board to refine your ideas and build a business that truly works for you, let’s connect. Reach out via email to start the conversation!
