Meet Grace Patterson

We recently connected with Grace Patterson and have shared our conversation below.

Grace , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Confidence is built by keeping the promises you make to yourself. Once I learned this it became easy to start building confidence slowly. When I promise myself I am going to workout, I do it. When I promise myself I am going to work on an audition for at least three hours, I do it. Keeping promises to myself overtime gave me the best form of self confidence because I realized I was able to trust myself. I always keep my word to myself and to others.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an actress, writer, entrepreneur, and producer! I have starred in multiple Lifetime Movies and independent films. I am also the author of A Woman’s World and The Things She Doesn’t Say available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target, and Walmart. I am the Co-founder of the women’s empowerment loungewear company BADKISS and have produced a few independent films as well. I fell in love with entertainment when I was nine years old and knew it was what I HAD to pursue. I love creating things from scratch and challenging myself. Writing has been a more recent passion and I cannot get away from it. I wrote my two poetry books in a week and received a publishing deal on both. You will definitely see more books from me in the near future!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
They say doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. That has been a good thing for me to remember as I pursue entertainment. If something isn’t working switch it up!! Try a new acting class, try prepping for an audition a different way, try networking, try something else!! Being open to trying new ways has helped me to excel in what I am doing. Even with writing, I just wrote my first memoir and have received some rejection on it. So now I am going in and fixing it and resubmitting. Never get stuck in your ways and have too much of an ego to admit you need extra work or more training. We are a constant work in progress. I never assume I know everything. I read, read, read, and read MORE! Business books, memoirs, anything inspiring and motivational. I am always desperate to consume more knowledge and apply it.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Who Says You Can’t? You Do. by Daniel Chidiac has been a life changing book for me. It’s all about having mental toughness and to stop counting ourselves out. We are SO capable if we have the right mind set. Stop comparing yourself to others, focus on becoming the best version of you, that you can be. Don’t put limits on yourself, give yourself the freedom to learn, grow, and expand. Nothing is impossible with the right work ethic and mindset.
