Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fabio Verdiani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Fabio , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a relentless pursuit of excellence, rooted in integrity, self-belief, and a customer-first mindset. Every challenge is an opportunity to build on my past experiences, refining my craft and strengthening my commitment to reliability, consistency, and quick, thoughtful responses. Whether restoring a timeless piece or guiding a customer through their creative journey, I stand by my promise to deliver not just beauty, but trust. It is this unwavering dedication—fueled by experience and confidence—that keeps me moving forward, ensuring that every project and every interaction reflects the values I hold dear
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Created in 2021, Fabio Verdiani Design’s mission is to help customers sustainably transform their home with striking, luxurious designs that stand out and reflect their unique style.
I am the main artist and founder: born and raised in Genoa, Italy, I have been living in Philadelphia since 2007, after almost two decades in Paris. My 1889 Victorian Queen Mary Willis Hale historic house in Spruce Hill is a showcase of the passion I have developed for interior design, upcycling furniture and creating unique pieces as furniture artist.
My specialty and passions lie in European Finishes and Art Deco as well as Faux Marbling and Chinoiserie.
I regularly travel back to my Italian Riviera home in Nervi, Genoa to gather new inspiration for my work.
I am also also an Annie Sloan Stockist and a Dario Biagioni Patina Toscana Specialist.
Local customers can visit my showroom in Spruce Hill, Philadelphia as well as pickup orders.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think focus, discipline and hard work are the foundation that has helped me through my journey. I recommend first finding what makes your heart beat and where your passion lies by exploring what makes you vibrate. Then I would start creating a rough strategic plan that encompasses the key major steps to get there. This may include how you train yourself and refine the skills you believe you need, what key investments are required, who could be your inspiration, coach or mentor, what network you need to develop to make progress, what events to attend, how to mindfully leverage social media and your local community. Focus, discipline and hard work were foundational to the strategic plan and to support me in moments of doubt or setbacks. While a strategic plan is key, the ability to flex and adjust to circumstances and people is very important: things do not always go to plan and you need to be able to adjust your trajectory, while keeping focus on the goal.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
While i have been quite successful selling online, my number one objective today is getting more known locally in the Philadelphia area, specifically by interior designers, decorators and artsy markets/stores that would help me grow my customer base through local work or commissions, while helping them serve their customers. Social media are helpful, but the direct contact and the rapport you can create in person is unique and very gratifying.
