We recently connected with Netta Nicosia and have shared our conversation below.
Netta , sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I’ve overcome and persisted through mental health challenges by deeply committing to self-awareness, healing, and transformation. My journey has been shaped by past experiences of betrayal, abuse, and relational trauma, which at times led to cycles of anxiety, negative thought patterns, and emotional dysregulation. However, rather than letting those experiences define me, I used them as catalysts for growth.
Breathwork became one of my most powerful tools for healing, helping me regulate my nervous system, clear emotional blockages, and reconnect with my true self beyond the conditioning of past pain. Through this practice, I learned how to move from survival mode into a space of inner peace, gratitude, and empowerment.
My business, Rooted in Divinity, was born from this transformation. It allows me to not only continue my own healing journey but also guide others through their struggles. Whether through Sonic Neural Breathwork, sound healing, or the coaching programs I’ve created, I help people break free from limiting beliefs, deprogram negative thought patterns, and step into their power.
Persistence for me means choosing healing every day, choosing to believe in my worth, to set boundaries, to embrace joy, and to help others do the same. It’s about holding space for both my own growth and the growth of those I serve, reminding us all that even through darkness, there is always a way back to the light.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey has been one of deep healing and transformation, and that’s exactly what I offer to others through my work. I am the founder of Rooted in Divinity, a space dedicated to helping people regulate their nervous systems, clear trauma, and reconnect with themselves and the divine through breathwork, sound healing, meditation, and movement.
What excites me the most about this work is witnessing the shifts in people, watching them go from feeling stuck in anxiety, self-doubt, or past conditioning to experiencing deep clarity, peace, and empowerment. I know firsthand what it’s like to feel disconnected, lost in old patterns, or overwhelmed by emotional struggles, and that’s why I’m so passionate about holding space for others to heal.
Beyond my private and group sessions, I’m currently expanding my offerings in several ways. I have a 6-week coaching program designed to help those struggling with anxiety and panic attacks regulate their nervous systems through breathwork and somatic exercises. I also offer virtual corporate breathwork sessions for teams looking to reduce stress and improve focus.
On the event side, I host transformative experiences like Sonic Neural Breathwork sessions, women’s empowerment retreats, and breathwork with cold plunge events, sound healing, Workshops for corporate employees about the importance of regulating their nervous system with conscious breathing, all aimed at unlocking deeper healing.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that healing is possible for everyone. No matter what you’ve been through, you can break free from limiting beliefs, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and step into a life of purpose, joy, and authenticity. That’s the journey I’ve walked, and it’s the one I now guide others through every day.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to hold space for transformation.
1. Resilience – Life has tested me in many ways, from past relational trauma to breaking free from limiting beliefs and societal conditioning. Resilience allowed me to keep going, even when healing felt overwhelming. For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace discomfort as part of growth—healing isn’t linear, but every challenge is an opportunity to step into your power.
2. Self-awareness – Understanding my patterns, triggers, and conditioning was crucial to breaking cycles that no longer served me. Breathwork played a huge role in this, helping me regulate my nervous system and access deeper layers of my subconscious. If you’re just starting, I encourage you to get curious about yourself. Journaling, meditation, and breathwork are powerful tools to help you observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment.
3. Holding Space for Transformation – Both for myself and for others, learning how to hold space for healing without forcing or rushing the process has been key. Whether in my coaching programs, breathwork sessions, or women’s retreats, I’ve seen how powerful it is to simply allow emotions to move and be witnessed. For those beginning their journey, practice deep listening—both to yourself and others. The more we create safe spaces for healing, the more transformation can naturally unfold.
Above all, trust that healing is possible. No matter where you’re starting from, the tools and wisdom you need are already within you. It’s just about learning how to access and embody them.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! I am always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations who are passionate about holistic wellness, personal transformation, and performance optimization.
I’m especially interested in partnering with corporate teams looking to integrate breathwork into their wellness programs to improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance overall employee well-being. Additionally, I’m eager to work with sports teams to help athletes harness breathwork for performance enhancement, endurance, and mental resilience.
Beyond that, I’m seeking investors and visionaries who align with the mission of creating a dedicated healing center—a sanctuary where individuals can immerse themselves in deep healing through breathwork, sound therapy, movement, and other holistic modalities.
