Meet Kylie Pohlman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kylie Pohlman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Kylie, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

Growing up I was always a very “happy go lucky” girl. I never worried about anything, I just kind of went about life with not a care in the world. I was always told to just be myself and that’s what I did. When I got a little older, I realized that no matter how much I want to be myself, people are going to talk, they’re going to find a way to pull you down. I definitely struggled a bit with anxiety (which I still do struggle with), self-doubt, and self-worth. I went through these struggles alone and it wasn’t easy. Not only did I come to the realization that no matter what, people will always have something to say, there’s always going to be something to worry about, and things won’t always go to plan, I realized I can’t let that stop me from living life with a happy head on my shoulders. I’ve grown in my faith and spirituality and yes that has definitely helped and made a difference, but I have talked myself into becoming happier and more joyful. I try to live my life with more optimism because it’s no fun to always be so negative and worried about what comes next. My optimism comes from me 🙂

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an independent hairstylist who owns her own business, StyledbyKylieP. I specialize in lived in color, redheads, extensions, cuts and styling. I absolutely love doing hair as I get to make people feel beautiful in their own skin! There truly is nothing more rewarding than seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they see the final product. I have always wanted to work in a field where I get to make others feel happy. Growing up I loved everything hair, makeup, and beauty. I would do my friends and my sisters friends hair and makeup and play dress up all the time! Along with that, I would make youtube videos all the time and it was my passion and joy next to beauty. I still have such a passion for social media and have been tapping into it more and more as I have been growing up. I have learned to not care what others think when i post on social media and that has made the biggest difference in my attitude towards it and how it affects me. My brand is very much a “be yourself, don’t let others tell you who to be” and I will continue to stand by that until I can’t stand anymore.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities or skills I think have helped me the most throughout these past few years would be; communication, understanding, and perseverance. Never give up when going after your goals. The only way you’re going to accomplish what you want is to go after it, understand there will be some road blocks, and you have to work through it. Those are the three skills I truly believe will make the most impact in going forward in your journey.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

As a hairstylist, I would absolutely love to work with some of my favorite brands, including: Redken, Pureology, and k18. These brands stand for so many things I believe in with morals and hair standards and it would be an absolute honor to work with or collaborate with them. As an aspiring content creator, there are so many people and companies I would absolutely love to collaborate with and experience an opportunity with them. Any beauty or fashion company would be an absolute HONOR to collaborate and work with. I appreciate everyone who has supported me on this journey of hair and social media and even the thought of one of my favorite brands reaching out and working with me would me the absolute world to me. So thank you, thank you, thank you.
