Meet Rasie Bamigbade

We were lucky to catch up with Rasie Bamigbade recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi RASIE, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through curiosity and thinking outside the box. Thinking of possibilities through clarity of what I am aiming for. Throughout my leadership experience, I observed and witnessed an opportunity gap of how leaders were showing up. Depending on who was watching, what is happening in their environment or what was happening internally, leaders showed up differently. I saw this happen in different companies that I worked for. My first step was to look in the mirror and start with myself. How do I show up? What do I need to change? How do I start with self leadership and lay the foundation for more self empowerment and motivation. This is when I found my purpose. Self leadership is at the foundation of my work. I am working on purpose to help more leaders lead their teams more effectively through self leadership.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Enhancing the key elements of my self leadership, choosing to heal what hurts and doing it with my community. These 3 areas were the most impactful when I reflect on my journey in this moment. One advice that I will share is be clear of what you are heading towards. If you are not clear, you will miss opportunities to learn, grow and pivot. An effective way to check if you are clear about your goals is to share with people who you trust. If they understand what you said, you are on your way. Being clear on your goals requires anyone to know your why, who, when, how, what can get in the way, visualize what it feels or looks like to be at your goal.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

They showed me what it means to have values, live by them and stay aligned with them, through their actions. This is a foundational learning that has rewarded me throughout my personal and professional journey. It has helped me assess who or what I surround myself with as I work on purpose.
