Meet Michael Arterberry

We recently connected with Michael Arterberry and have shared our conversation below.

Michael, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from growing up with nothing and not wanting that to be my reality as an adult. What I was able to do with my life is not common within the stereotypes of America. I was able to break the cycle!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As a teenager, I was fortunate to receive guidance from positive adult role models who helped me overcome adversities and set high expectations for my future. Grateful for the role these mentors played in my own development, I decided to dedicate my professional life to helping teenagers navigate the difficult adolescent years.

As a Master Encourager, a mentor, and a guide who helps individuals and teams unlock their full potential. I have dedicated my life to transforming lives by helping people turn obstacles into opportunities.

I have recently released my latest book, The Ripple Effect, which is available on my website at www.michaelarterberry.com.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Being fluid and realizing that life is going to throw you punches; it is how you navigate those that will determine your success.
2. Quieting yourself to capture what’s already in you – people have a tendency to try to create something that is already part of their being. Internally, they are built perfectly for whatever their purpose is.
3. Understanding that delay is not denial; sometimes, you don’t get things because it is simply not in your best interest.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My faith has overwhelmingly carried me through some of the darkest and most challenging times of my life, including navigating a tumultuous childhood, choosing a direction for my life, and managing a debilitating medical issue.
