We recently connected with Lauren Goldman and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
This is a great question. I used to second-guess every decision, wondering if I was really the right person to be doing this—but then I realized no one has it all figured out. When I decided to launch my business, Goldman Grows, I literally blocked a couple profiles online that I felt would have that “who does she think she is” type thoughts about me extending my expertise. In doing so, it has helped me become more confident. I eventually did unblock these accounts.
The truth is, imposter syndrome doesn’t just disappear; you just get better at pushing through it.
Every time I land a big win in a client or see real growth from my strategies, I remind myself that results don’t lie—I know what I’m doing. And I’m good at it.
But even now, there are moments when I catch myself thinking, What if this is the time I mess it all up? What if this wasn’t the right move? (Spoiler: It never is.)
So if you’re feeling like an imposter, just know that we all do—keep showing up, keep learning, and one day you’ll look back and realize you became the person you once doubted.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Goldman Grows was born out of my passion for helping small and mid-sized businesses scale in a way that feels intentional, sustainable, and smart. I specialize in paid social advertising and email marketing—two powerhouse strategies that, when done right, can completely transform a business.
What excites me most is seeing my clients break through revenue ceilings they once thought were impossible. Watching a brand go from struggling to get eyes on their offers to confidently scaling with a data-driven strategy? That’s what keeps me going.
What makes Goldman Grows different is that I bring global, corporate-level marketing expertise to businesses that wouldn’t typically have access to it. I have a history of working with HUGE name brands. I take this knowledge in my day-to-day to take the guesswork out of paid ads and email marketing, giving my clients a clear, strategic path to growth—without the bloated agency overhead or the one-size-fits-all approach.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my impact in a big way. I’m rolling out my Ads Growth 101 course for business owners who want to take control of their marketing and learn how to run profitable paid social media campaigns themselves. I’m also doubling down on creating more educational content because I firmly believe that when business owners understand how marketing works, they make better decisions for their brands.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to help businesses scale in a way that feels good—without the overwhelm, without the waste, and with real, measurable results.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The absolute most impactful in my journey has been being brave enough to speaking up and knowing when to ask to learn more. Early in my career, I learned that no one will hand you opportunities—you have to ask for them. I remember being in meetings with an agency who ran, the company I worked for at the time, paid ads. I was so intrigued with what they were doing that I went to my boss afterwards and I asked if I could be included in every conversation moving forward. For the sake of getting in the right room. Being in the right room eventually led me to ask my boss if I could take the courses and certifications to learn this skillset and bring paid ads in-house. Those two questions literally led me to know what I am doing today. If you’re just starting out, don’t be afraid to say, “I want to learn this” or “Can I take this on?” Growth happens when you put yourself out there.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that marketing isn’t about guessing—it’s about testing, analyzing, and optimizing. I use to think these were just buzzwords. But really, they matter. Understanding data has allowed me to make strategic moves that drive real results instead of just throwing things at the wall and hoping they stick. I want to spend my money wisely, as should you. Get comfortable with analytics early on. Whether it’s ad performance, website traffic, or email engagement, knowing how to read the numbers will set you apart and make your marketing efforts so much more effective and will scale you quickly!
At the core of everything I do is connection—whether it’s with clients, collaborators, or my audience. People don’t just buy a service; they invest in you. The best thing I ever did for my business was genuinely caring about my clients’ success and making them feel like I’m truly in it with them. If you’re just starting out, prioritize building trust. Be transparent, communicate clearly, and remember that relationships are what turn one-time projects into long-term partnerships.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! I’m always looking to collaborate with people who are passionate about helping businesses grow.
If you’re a business coach, consultant, or someone with an audience of entrepreneurs, course creators, or small business owners, then my Ads Growth 101 course is the perfect resource to introduce them to the delicacy of Meta advertising. So many people are amazing at what they do but feel completely lost when it comes to running paid ads. This course is designed to break down the absolute basics in a way that’s easy to understand and actionable—so they can start running ads with confidence instead of feeling intimidated by the process.
I’d love to collaborate with those who are already teaching or guiding business owners in their growth journey. Whether it’s bundling my course with your offerings, featuring it as a resource for your audience, or co-creating content around paid social strategy, there are so many ways we can work together!
