We recently connected with Kisu Choi and have shared our conversation below.
KISU, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
“There have been many times when I felt exhausted and struggled while doing music. But I always remind myself of the family, friends, and beloved fans who support me. Thinking of them gives me the strength to keep going and to rise again. They are my greatest motivation and power.”

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
“Hello, I am KISU, a singer. I am working hard to create and perform great music to make people happy!”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
“The first quality is sincerity. I always thought I didn’t have any talent since I was young. The only thing I could do was work hard, and that continued with immense dedication. I don’t think I’m exceptional even now, but I truly believe that if I keep putting in the effort, things will work out. So, consistent sincerity has been a great strength for me.
The second quality is a positive mindset. There are times when situations aren’t ideal, but I’ve learned that the outcome often depends on how we think and approach things. That’s why I always try to maintain a positive attitude.
The third quality is relationships with people. I place a high value on relationships, especially with my fans. I feel so grateful for each one of them, and I strive to communicate my true feelings to them with all my heart and effort.”

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
“The biggest influence my parents have had on me is love. They gave me so much love, and they always tell me to spread love to others.
In February 2023, when my concert in the UK was scheduled, only eight people showed up. I was really upset when the ticket sales opened, and only eight tickets were sold. But my mom told me, ‘It doesn’t matter how many people come. If you can give those eight people a happy gift that changes their lives, how valuable is that?’ That moment taught me so much, and when I performed for those eight people, I was incredibly happy and received so much love. It was one of the best performances of my life.”
