Meet Jamison Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Jamison Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamison, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

This may seem completely random and really, only those who have done it will completely understand, but my resilience comes from my time as a part of the Phantom Regiment, a competitive drum and bugle corps (essentially marching band on steroids). It was honestly the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Sprinting around a hot football field rehearsing for 12+ hours a day, competing at shows at night, sleeping on a greyhound bus and on gym floors for 3 months straight. You’re exhausted and sore and your body starts giving out on you (especially considering I have arthritis in my hands and feet), but you have 149 other people on the field counting on you to give 100% every second of every day. It really teaches you how push through and accomplish greatness even when your brain and body are trying to tell you that you can’t. That was incredibly formative for me and has enabled me to reach higher and farther than I ever imagined.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I specialize in medical aesthetics, with a focus on natural, subtle rejuvenation that stands the test of time.

Our motto is “Modern Aesthetics. Natural Results”, meaning no Tik-Tok trends or overfilled faces, only your natural beauty in it’s best state via expertly tailored treatments.

We do anti-wrinkle treatments (i.e. Botox), fillers, biostimulators, lasers, peels, and customized skincare protocols. We’ve become quite a one-stop shop for people in the West Hollywood area since opening in January 2024.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1) An artistic eye: Growing up, while other kids were playing with toy cars and action figures, I was in the corner with my coloring books, drawing painting, doing any arts and crafts I could get my hands on. So when I discovered Aesthetics, I fell in love immediately with the artistry of the field and how every patient was like anew art project.

2) A strong medical background: My first few years as Nurse Practitioner were spent in Cardiothoracic Surgery, assisting in open heart and lung surgery cases, and managing ICU patients. It gave me a strong foundation in medicine and how the human body works and also gave me the fine motor skills to work in very intricate detail, which is very important when working facial aesthetics.

3) An empathetic soul: Many people tend to think that Aesthetics is full of vain people who should just be happy with how they look and how they age. While there are certainly are people who become overly obsessed with their appearance, most people just want to feel more happy, healthy, and confident. I have a sign above my mirror that says “Born Perfect”, because I believe that you can still be happy and confident in who you are and how you look and still want to make improvements and I love helping become what they view as the best versions of themselves inside and out.

My biggest advice for people early on in their journey is to learn to LISTEN to people. Don’t impose your own beliefs of beauty on your patients because “beauty” means something different to everyone. I don’t look like most people in my industry. I have a mohawk and tattoos and piercings and I love those things about me. I would never want someone else to tell me how I’m “supposed” to look, so why on earth would I try to tell others how they should look? I try to make it clear to all my patients that their treatment plan is a collaborative effort using my expertise to help them achieve their own personal goals.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When you feel overwhelmed, do something that makes you happy. For 30min, 2h, or a whole day. Whatever you need to overcome that feeling, because you won’t be very productive unless you do and if your mental health is compromised, it will eventually spill into your work and your daily life. Personally, I listen to a lot of classical music. Something emotional if I need a good cry, something powerful if I need more confidence, whatever I feel like I need in that moment.
