Meet Geraldine Convento

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Geraldine Convento. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Geraldine below.

Geraldine, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes in the form of sharing and teaching. It’s how I hold space for people. I share insights that they hadn’t considered before or walk them through things they don’t know how to do. This all stemmed from observing people around me not taking action because they didn’t know where to start.

Often when we can’t see a clear path, it’s easy to say something is not worth pursuing, but I believe that working through the places that you feel stuck will help you get even further than you intended. I love seeing people accomplish things they hadn’t thought possible for themselves whether they are my friends, clients, or people that watch my YouTube videos – it’s all the same. People moving forward.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a business builder. I live to create businesses that let me set my schedule, choose my team, gather clients, and earn money. I grew up in a family of hardworking people that had very minimal free time. Being an entrepreneur while still being able to run errands, nap, and spend time with loved ones during business hours, feels like freedom.

My two main businesses are in marketing (www.reverenceglobal.com) and website maintenance (www.meetgeraldine.com). I also am a YouTube content creator and I am a partner in several other companies.

After 16 years of being in marketing and web, what feels most exciting about my work is that we work with clients in several different industries. Through my clients, I get to see how every industry works, it’s like seeing what’s behind the curtain in all different types of businesses.

On YouTube, I get to share the things I’ve learned and insights I’ve gained through my journey. People around the world leave comments on my videos and it’s awesome to know that they find the information useful.

Simultaneous to all of this I’ve always been deeply committed to understanding myself on a deeper level, Astrocartography and Vedic Astrology became a significant part of this which is why I perform occasional readings for people and integrate this into my business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’ve spoken about this on my podcast, 3 Pillars of Success (on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon, etc.). Everyone has their own definition of success which can also change at any time. What is most important is that you define what it is for yourself. My 3 pillars are: Willingness, Commitment, and Communication. I feel that with those 3 Pillars people can achieve anything they desire. First, you have to be willing to do something or be a certain way. Second, you have to commit to that and define what that looks like. Third, you have to leverage your communication to put things into action – this could look like making an unreasonable request, asking for help, setting boundaries, obtaining feedback, the possibilities are endless.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

One of the biggest realizations I’ve had that has brought tremendous personal and professional growth is that it’s important to set intentions, but not be attached to how everything will unfold. Historically, I’ve been intimidated by goal setting. A little more than a year ago, I put my big girl pants on and created a plan. This plan was so specific that in my mind there was no way it would turn out any different. Long story short, MY LIFE IN THE PAST YEAR TURNED OUT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Circumstances and opportunities unfolded in ways that I couldn’t have imagined. That’s when I realized… Sure! I can create goals and intentions but the steps are not always going to unfold the way I say, because the way I say is limited. There’s so much more out there that I can’t see. So now I plan pretty loosely, deal with things as they come, and pivot as necessary. It’s a lot less stressful for me this way.
