We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evan Cavallini. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evan below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Evan with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic is rooted in passion, discipline, and consistent learning. I fell in love with the music scene deeply when I was in college in my early 20s. That experience opened my eyes to the culture, energy, and the way music can bring people together. From that moment forward, I knew I wanted to be more than just a spectator—I wanted to contribute to the scene in a meaningful way.
That passion has only grown over the years, and I make it a priority to continue my education in every way possible. I’m always listening, always studying—whether it’s watching videos on production techniques, analyzing DJ sets, or even absorbing music while I’m at the gym. There’s never a moment where I’m not learning, and I think that’s what separates those who just participate from those who truly grow in this industry.
After college I spent several years completely sober. During this time, music became my anchor. It was something I could depend on when I needed focus, when I needed inspiration, and when I was rebuilding my sense of purpose. Without the distractions that once existed, I started to connect with music on a deeper level. I listened differently, studied harder, and became even more intentional about my craft. When I made the choice to be fully present and intentional with my craft, everything started to align. I became more consistent, more disciplined, and more committed to reaching my goals.
To stay focused and continue developing my craft, I’ve invested in my education through Cosmic Academy, a music production and branding school, and Expansive Academy, which focuses exclusively on music production. I’m also part of groups dedicated to music production, where I collaborate, exchange ideas, and refine my skills with other like-minded artists. Additionally, I’m currently working with a mentor who is helping guide me through this part of the journey, giving me structure and direction. All of this keeps me from feeling lost and pushes me to stay motivated and disciplined in my approach.
Today my life looks very different from way it did in my 20’s. I have a wonderful wife and two amazing children. They’re the foundation that allows me to pursue this dream with everything I have. From giving me the space and encouragement to create, to being there through every challenge, their belief in me keeps me grounded and motivated.
Ultimately, my approach is simple: immerse myself in music, learn every day, and stay dedicated to refining my skills. This industry moves fast, and I want to evolve with it while staying true to what made me fall in love with it in the first place.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my reach and continuing to develop as both a DJ and an artist. I produce house and techno, constantly exploring and refining my sound within both genres. I have an upcoming release on XIMA Records called Free Your Mind, a collaboration with one of my best friends, Andre Martins (SatelliteFrank). Additionally, I’m excited to kick off the free download series for SNRG Records with a high-energy techno collaboration alongside Inigma.
Beyond my personal journey as an artist, I’ve also had the privilege of working on Reach, an event series that showcases underground house, techno, and multicultural dance music with Andre Martins. Reach is about more than just music—it’s about creating an experience that takes people on a journey. It’s an inclusive space where different sounds and styles come together to form something truly special. The atmosphere at each event is what makes Reach so magical. We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with incredible local collectives like Rinse and Repeat, Out There, Rat Trap Recordings, Open Face Entertainment, and Electric Winter Wonderland (and a future collaboration with Discodreamland904; details available soon). We’ve also had the opportunity to work with Hennessy Events and Sun Sol Plants, whose support has helped bring our vision to life.
Working on Reach has taught me so much about what it takes to put on a truly successful event. At the core of it all are the people, the connections, and, most importantly, the love for the music. Building a community around that shared passion has been the most rewarding part of this journey, and I’m excited to continue growing, both as an artist and as a curator of unforgettable experiences.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1) Understanding the specific demands of each problem and managing my energy efficiently to stay focused on what truly matters.
2) Building meaningful connections with everyone involved in each event—whether it’s bartenders, attendees, or fellow artists. You never know who will be at your event or who you will meet.
3) Consistency is everything. Staying consistent with with trying to learn create and grow keeps things moving in the right direction.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always open to collaborating with like-minded artists, producers, event organizers, and creatives who share a passion for the music and pushing the culture forward. Whether it’s working on new music, curating unique events, or building something fresh within the scene, I’m always excited to connect with people who bring energy, creativity, and a strong work ethic to the table.
If you’re interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out! You can connect with me through social media or email—let’s build something great together.
