Meet Annie Lenora Evans

We were lucky to catch up with Annie Lenora Evans recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie Lenora, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Imposter syndrome was a significant challenge for me to overcome. Through music, sound healing, and meditation, I came to realize that it stems from a deep-rooted fear of being truly “seen.” As a creative individual, many of us can relate to the feeling that our work is often misunderstood or undervalued in a society that tends to dismiss creativity as “not a real job.” It can also feel overwhelming when external validation, like having a huge social media following, becomes the measure of whether our art is valid.

In time, I realized that these beliefs were not my own, but rather projections shaped by the fears and expectations of others. By embracing my personal power and prioritizing my growth, mental health, and happiness, I learned that true validation comes from practicing self-love. Ultimately, the only approval that truly matters is our own.

Of course, I’m only human, and there are still moments when my confidence isn’t at its peak. But overall, overcoming imposter syndrome for me has been a journey of self-acceptance—releasing the weight of external judgments and letting go of limiting beliefs and societal projections.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a sound healer and meditation facilitator with a deep love for music. Singing and creating music have always been a huge part of my life, leading me to study Music Business and International Music Marketing at University. My passion for wellness eventually led me to sound healing, where I found the perfect way to combine music with helping others.

Through one-on-one sound baths, group sessions, company events, and my own gatherings, I create spaces where people can reconnect with their authentic selves and tap into their own ability to heal. My role as a sound healer is to be a humble guide—helping others access the deep transformation that sound can offer.

I believe sound healing should be accessible to all, which is why I offer free recorded meditations on my website. I’m also passionate about the science behind sound healing and its potential to relieve physical and emotional pain. I hope to contribute to more research in this field and explore how sound healing, combined with Western medicine, can create a more holistic approach to wellness.

I’m excited for my upcoming events, including a sound bath at Dawn Patrol Yoga in Huntington Beach on April 12th and a Summer Solstice sound bath at Sol Studio in Costa Mesa on June 20th. Each event is designed to offer a powerful and immersive healing experience.

At its core, my brand is about helping people reconnect with themselves, find inner balance, and embrace their own healing journey through the power of sound.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are setting boundaries, staying present and grounded, and practicing gratitude.

1. Setting Boundaries – Learning to set boundaries in all aspects of my life—personally, professionally, and within my inner circle—has been essential. As a healer and creative, it’s easy to overextend myself, but I’ve learned that protecting my energy allows me to show up fully for others. My advice for those early in their journey is to recognize that saying “no” isn’t selfish—it’s necessary for sustainable growth.

2. Staying Present and Grounded – Whether in my personal practice or facilitating sound baths, being fully present makes all the difference. Meditation, breathwork, yoga, and simply spending time in nature have helped me stay centered. For anyone looking to develop this skill, I’d suggest finding small, daily rituals that bring you back to the present moment—it doesn’t have to be complicated.

3. Practicing Gratitude – Gratitude has shifted my entire mindset. It keeps me focused on what’s going well instead of getting caught up in doubts or external pressures. My advice is to make gratitude a daily practice, even in small ways—whether through journaling, reflection, or just taking a moment to appreciate the present.

These three things have helped me navigate my path with more clarity and peace, and I truly believe they can benefit anyone on their own journey.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have such supportive parents. They always encouraged me to follow my dreams and never pressured me to take a more “traditional” career path, which so many creative individuals are often pushed toward. Growing up, they took me to all my music and dance lessons, competitions, and performances, always believing in my passion. They gave me the tools to succeed while allowing me the freedom to pursue what truly makes me happy.

Throughout my years as a creative, I’ve met so many people whose parents were not supportive of their career choices, which unfortunately seems to be very common. That has made me appreciate my parents’ encouragement even more. I hope to be a mom one day, and when that time comes, I plan to be the same way with my children—supporting them wholeheartedly in whatever career or passions they choose.
