Meet Laurie Myers

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laurie Myers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laurie below.

Laurie, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Time,, Prayer and meditation. When doubt creeps in, reminding myself of the work Ive put in, the impact I’ve made, and the doors that have opened because of my purpose. His purpose; He has on my life

One thing that helps is shifting the focus from “Am I worthy of this?” to “How can I serve with what I’ve been given?” I’m not in this position by accident—God placed me here for a reason. Walking by faith, and let His truth silence the noise around you.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am the owner and chef behind Café 301, a catering business and food truck that specializes in bold, flavorful dishes with a soulful twist. One of our signature menu items is the Soul Roll—a unique creation established in 2016 featuring collard greens, jasmine rice, and shredded barbecue chicken, all wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and deep-fried to perfection. In 2024, we sold over 4,000 Soul Rolls, a testament to how much our customers love them!

What makes Café 301 special is our commitment to both quality and community. We take pride in crafting dishes that bring people together while also giving back.

Beyond just serving food, we strive to create an experience that feels like home, whether through our catering services, food truck, or upcoming ooops can’t share just yet, :)))

Right now, we’re in an exciting season of growth. In March, we’re kicking off our food truck season.

Through all of this, I walk by faith. This journey has been one of resilience, stepping out of my comfort zone, and trusting that God is leading me exactly where I need to be. I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for food and community with the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Your Walk of Faith

Impact: Your faith has been a foundation in your journey, guiding you through challenges, giving you strength, and helping you find clarity in moments of doubt. It has shaped your resilience and provided a sense of purpose.

Advice:
•   Spend time in prayer, reflection, or journaling to strengthen your connection with God.
•   Read scripture and surround yourself with spiritual teachings that reinforce your faith.
•   Stay obedient to the path God is leading you on, even when it doesn’t make sense to others. Remember God gave this vision to YOU.
•   Be patient with the process—trusting in God means surrendering control and believing He is working behind the scenes.

2. Believing in Yourself/Be YOURSELF

Impact: Confidence in yourself and your vision has helped push through doubt, imposter syndrome, and negativity. Even when external circumstances were challenging, you stayed committed to your purpose.

Advice:
•   Start by acknowledging small wins. Every step forward is proof that you’re capable.
•   Affirm yourself daily—write down and speak positive truths about yourself.
•   Step outside of your comfort zone regularly to build confidence in your abilities.
•   Keep a record of your progress to remind yourself of how far you’ve come when doubt creeps in.

3. Surrounding Yourself with Like-Minded Individuals

Impact: The people around you can either uplift or drain you. Surrounding yourself with those who share your vision and values has helped you stay motivated and aligned with your goals.

Advice:
•   Be intentional about who you allow into your space. Seek those who encourage, challenge, and inspire you.
•   Join groups, attend events, or connect with communities that align with your goals.
•   If necessary, distance yourself from negativity—even if it means walking alone for a season.
•   Build relationships with mentors and peers who have walked a similar path and can offer wisdom and support.

THIS IS YOUR JOURNEY! NOW GO GET IT!!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m looking to collaborate with individuals and businesses who believe in the vision of Cafe 301 and want to help expand its reach—whether that’s through distribution, franchising, or other creative partnerships. If you have expertise in food distribution, retail, or international markets and are interested in working together, let’s connect! I’d love to see this product sold worldwide. Feel free to reach out to discuss how we can make it happen.
