Meet Diema Manor

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diema Manor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Diema, so great to have you sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our readers and so let’s jump right into one of our favorite topics – empathy. We think a lack of empathy is at the heart of so many issues the world is struggling with and so our hope is to contribute to an environment that fosters the development of empathy. Along those lines, we’d love to hear your thoughts around where your empathy comes from?

One the condition that allowed me to develop my empathy was watching my mother battle rumatory arthritis of the lungs for 12 years with grace and love. After being diagnosed, she was given 2 years to live without a lung transplant. Her life changed drastically physically but never mentally. For the first year she continued working. Having to carry an oxygen tank with her every day. Her smile beamed just as bright as it had before. She embraced her condition while always showing concern and compassion for others. Her light brightened up every room she entered. Up until the day of her passing she was always concerned about how everyone around her was feeling and effected. My mother is the reason I show empathy to others.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I have been a chef for over 15 years. Catered for various businesses, non profit companies and private events. Hosted various pop ups throughout the Bay Area.
Recently, I started working with Heirloom Chef offering personal chef service.
Being a chef helps me show love and compassion to individuals through food, one plate at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

One skill that I believe has impact my journey is compassion. Learning how to be compassionate to others whether we are the same or different, agree or disagree is a true strength.
Another quality that has impacted my journey is communication. Knowing when to speak and how to speak to other effectively is a skill that requires continuous attention.
The ability to have an open mind is the third quality that has greatly improved my journey. I don’t have to think like you to empathize with your story.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

One of the challenges I am currently facing is financial growth and freedom. In order to overcome this challenge I am creating various sources of income. Some of those variations include working different jobs, collaborating with others to learn how to make my money work for me, network marketing and investing. I am also planning to have dual citizenship to leverage the cost of living in the United States.
