Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Specos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Christina, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Imposter syndrome is something I battled in my career, even after years of education, certifications, and experience. Despite working with elite clients—pro athletes, high-level executives, and entrepreneurs—I still had moments where I questioned whether I was “qualified enough” to be in the room.
But here’s what I learned: imposter syndrome is just a sign that you’re pushing beyond your comfort zone. It’s not proof that you’re unqualified—it’s proof that you’re growing.
What changed for me was stacking undeniable proof of my competence. I stopped looking for external validation and instead focused on executing at the highest level. I studied more, refined my craft, put in the reps, and leaned into my unique approach. Every success, every transformed client, every time I delivered undeniable results—those became my receipts.
I also realized that imposter syndrome thrives in silence. The more I spoke, coached, and shared my expertise, the more I saw how much value I actually had to offer. Confidence isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build by showing up, doing the work, and owning your space.
At this point in my career, I don’t question whether I belong. I know I do. Because I’ve earned it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Relentless Discipline
Talent and motivation come and go, but discipline is what builds empires. There were countless days when I didn’t feel like training, studying, or pushing through the grind—but I did it anyway. The ability to show up, regardless of how you feel, is what separates those who succeed from those who stay stuck.
🔥 Advice: Stop waiting for motivation. Build habits. Set non-negotiables for yourself and execute them daily, no matter what.
2. Deep, Unshakable Knowledge
Success in any field isn’t about surface-level information—it’s about mastery. I didn’t just study fitness; I immersed myself in powerlifting, bodybuilding, Pilates, injury prevention, biomechanics, and nutrition. I made myself undeniable. When you know your craft inside and out, imposter syndrome fades, and opportunities multiply.
🔥 Advice: Become obsessed with learning. Read, study, take courses, get mentors, and apply what you learn until you can teach it like second nature.
3. Unapologetic Self-Belief
The fitness industry—and life—will test you. People will doubt you. You’ll have moments where you question yourself. But the ones who make it? They decide they belong. They move with conviction even before they feel “ready.”
🔥 Advice: Stop looking for external validation. Act as if you are already the expert, the athlete, the entrepreneur—and then prove it through action. Confidence is built through execution, not affirmation.
At the end of the day, success isn’t about luck. It’s about who is willing to outwork, outlearn, and outlast the competition. If you commit to these three qualities, you’ll be unstoppable.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins was a game-changer for me—both personally and professionally. Before this book, I had a deep tendency to worry excessively about clients, friends, family members, and even the chaos of social media and the news. I carried an unnecessary emotional burden, feeling responsible for people’s choices, their outcomes, and their lack of action—even when it wasn’t my job to fix them.
This book helped me understand something profound: I can’t control anyone but myself. And the more I tried to fight for things, people, or situations that weren’t aligned with me, the more I drained my own energy and stunted my own growth.
How It Evolved Me as a Coach:
As a coach, my job is to guide, support, and educate—not to force, convince, or chase. There was a time when I found myself more emotionally invested in my clients’ success than they were. I’d stress over whether they were following their plans, doing the work, or making the mindset shifts necessary for their results. But what I learned through this book is that I can’t do the work for them, and I can’t force transformation on someone who isn’t ready.
Instead of fighting for what I thought I needed—certain clients to take action, certain relationships to work out, certain situations to unfold in a specific way—I learned to relax and trust. Trust that the right people will show up ready to work. Trust that when someone isn’t aligned, it’s okay to let them go. Trust that energy spent on people who refuse to step up is energy stolen from those who are ready.
Letting Go = Gaining Peace
The biggest shift? My life became lighter, more peaceful, and more powerful. I stopped making excuses for people. I stopped trying to pull people into the work. I set my standards, showed up fully for those who met me there, and let the rest go.
Now, I move differently. I no longer waste time being upset when people don’t do what I expect. Instead, I watch. I observe what they choose, and I take that as my answer. No resistance. No wasted energy. Just clarity.
And that’s been the most freeing and powerful shift of my life.
