Meet Liz Hahn

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Liz Hahn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Liz, thank you so much for making time for us today. We’re excited to discuss a handful of topics with you, but perhaps the most important one is around decision making. The ability to make decisions is a key requirement for anyone who wants to make a difference and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your decision-making skills.

I work in a fast-changing industry, so testing your ideas against the market to find out what resonates with your client’s needs is crucial. In the bachelor party planning and entertainment scene, you learn a lot from mistakes if you have the patience and courage to make potentially risky decisions. I guess I have learned a lot from my over 30 years of experience in the field.

But besides my experience, what I think helped me hone my decision-making skills is trying to stay well-informed about the latest bachelor party trends, what guys want to do for a fun weekend getaway, what the hottest party destinations are, and so on. The more you understand about your clients and the market, the more chances you have in making great decisions.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m Liz Hahn, and I’ve been in the party entertainment industry for over 30 years. I’ve always loved to throw amazing parties with great music, fun party entertainers, and lots of booze, and I’m so happy I can continue planning such fun milestone events for others in the present.

I bought my first business in 1991 and had to hustle to grow as an entrepreneur because online marketing was not yet a thing back then. But things got easier in time; we created a site and expanded the business to multiple locations. Nowadays, I’m the owner and founder of multiple bachelor party agencies, such as Bad Girl Productions, which offers custom party packages coast to coast, and Phoenix Bachelor Party, which covers Phoenix and Scottsdale in Arizona.

I’m proud of our eye candy party packages that can be customized to the bachelor party group size and itinerary. From pool party entertainers and bartenders to Golf Caddy Girls and female poker dealers, we offer fun packages perfect for bachelor parties, stag parties, golf trips, and all-guys private celebrations in Phoenix. We recently partnered up with a local Hibachi Chef business and plan to expand our party services even further to offer our clients more fun options.

With my other business, Bad Girl Productions, we just launched a few party services with special discounts for Canadian snowbirds because we try to adapt to the latest economic conditions and support Canadian bachelor party groups who still wish to throw the Ultimate Bachelor Party in the United States. We’ll see how that works out.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For me, the most important entrepreneurial skills were adaptability, resilience, and efficient time management. As I mentioned, the bachelor party industry is fast-changing and competitive, as many other industries probably are, so it was crucial to know, anticipate, and understand trends fast and adapt to sudden and unexpected changes.

Resilience was a much-needed skill because my journey was not without challenges and setbacks, so I had to be patient and resilient to bounce back, learn from failures, and be successful in a male-dominated industry. Then, managing my time in an efficient way was also super important for redirecting my energy and resources where it matters and not letting tasks pile up.

My advice to entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey is to have patience because progress and growth can happen slowly, but to stay perseverant in their efforts. Test your ideas, see what works, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different business strategies until you find the winning combination.
