We were lucky to catch up with Justyna Justice Denney recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Justyna Justice , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from the hope I carry inside. I truly believe we all have a light within us that shines brightly despite life’s twists, turns and changes. I have a true sense that all things work out for the good, even if they appear different than how we planned them to be. I have been able to over a handful of challenges, which have made me stronger, wiser and more optimistic. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that when something doesn’t fit and doesn’t work out, it’s only because something greater and better is just on the horizon. I live by faith and carry an inner peace and smile. This definitely came from experience and from being an overcomer.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Although I never had childhood ambitions of this, I hold the title of Ms. Overland Park, Kansas Millennium 2025. My platform is food insecurity and hunger. Once a week I help distribute necessities at a local food pantry. I really try to learn everyone’s story and where they come from. I enjoy giving back and serving my community in this small way. I love trying new avenues and recently was featured in a handful of up-and-coming fashion and beauty magazines. It’s definitely been a fun adventure, one that I did not see coming. I’m open to new collaborations and opportunities. My niche is, health, fitness, beauty, fashion & decor.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, my advice to others is to start taking care of your health and prioritize fitness and healthy eating. I’ve been on a fitness journey for going on 5 years now. I lift weights 5x a week and believe strength training has really helped me rescuplt my body and it’s something that will always be a part of me. I only wish I would have started going to the gym in my 20s. We only get one body to live in on this side, and it’s our responsibility and privilege to take good care of it. An investment in our health and well-being is always worth it and pays off in the end.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
This one is a no-brainer. My amazing husband of 3 years, has been my greatest help, inspiration, confidant, motivator, and sounding board. Like many millennials, I was hesitant about marriage and waited a long time to say my vows. It’s been such a great gift from above, and I love being in a strong partnership that supports one another.
