Meet Samantha Ray Mifsud

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Samantha Ray Mifsud. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Samantha Ray below.

Hi Samantha Ray, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience, for me, has come from necessity. As I recently shared with a group of my professional peers, I feel like I have been ‘on the brink of greatness’ over and over again throughout my life, only to fall short, most times due to circumstances outside of my control. In each of those circumstances, I’ve had two choices: I could immediately choose to keep moving forward, and control what I could, or (…to keep this interesting) I could choose Death. Do I give up and die, or do I find a new path and keep moving? Those are truly the only two options. I’ve chosen Life every single time, and each new path has carried me somewhere I never would have previously envisioned for myself.

Between failed relationships, failed academic, athletic, and career endeavors, failed attempts to be a mother, financial failure, and more, I have had no choice but to move forward if I wanted to continue living my life. I get my resilience, simply, from the need to be resilient.

Resilience isn’t often pretty. It is begotten of failures and the CHOICE to keep moving. If we think of Oxford Dictionary’s definition, resilience is: “the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness,” If you want to live life, there is no other choice. Why spend time sulking or dwelling on the challenges or difficulties when, instead, you can take action and move on?

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Samantha Ray Mifsud is a multifaceted entrepreneur who enjoys partnering with other high-achieving professionals, to help serve them to be able to lead their most fulfilling lives possible. As a financial advisor, Samantha Ray believes that financial discussions should revolve around the individual—prioritizing personal values, family dynamics, and specific goals. Her philosophy is rooted in active listening, ensuring that her clients feel truly understood and valued. By crafting customized plans that align with each client’s aspirations, she aims to empower them on their journeys toward success.

Her unwavering belief in the inherent value of each person fuels her mission to help others recognize and embrace their divine gifts. Samantha’s coaching transcends traditional boundaries, offering transformative experiences that impact her clients on physical, mental, spiritual, and financial levels.

In her own words, Samantha Ray’s mission is clear: “To educate and guide people I care about, equipping them with knowledge and options to confidently make unique decisions that will help them to create lives filled with joy, stability, connection, love, and generosity.” She does this through her financial services offerings, utilizing tools like investments and insurance, and she includes this mission in every cycling class she teaches at Wilmington, NC’s premier cycling studio, RECESS BY BEVIN PRINCE, and in her Yoga offerings as well.

Having practiced Yoga Asana since 2005, Samantha Ray has also been involved in the Fitness and Wellness industries as a certified personal trainer and RYT200 Yoga Instructor. In 2019, she started her own Yoga company (formerly called Evolution Healing Arts) and has since rebranded the business to be called Marici Yoga & Wellness, and in 2021, she began teaching group cycling classes at RECESS.

When Samantha Ray was born, her parents chose the middle name, Ray, because they said that she was “their ray of sunshine.” Carrying that message with her from a young age, Samantha Ray has led an ambitious life of hope, aiming to illuminate the lives of those around her, by reflecting rays of God’s light upon others, through love, compassion, and kindness.

Her company’s name, ‘Marici,’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ray of light, dawn, or the moment light overcomes darkness. So, following Samantha Ray’s mission and Yoga offerings (with Yoga as the Mind-Body-Spirit practice, that connects all living beings through God’s Divine Love), we hope that you will feel a little lighter and a little brighter, remembering that our physical bodies are simply the vessels we get to use to spread God’s Love while we are here on this Earth after treating yourself to an encounter with Samantha Ray.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Optimism | Assume the best, most ideal outcome, even if it seems outlandish or delusional to others. Hold hope in your heart and be idealistic and creative. Your journey is completely different from everyone else! Be bold and charge forward into unfamiliarity, confident that you’ll have a great adventure along the way!

Courage | Don’t hold back. Even if something feels scary or daunting, do it anyway. It’s often not as scary as you’d thought it would be anyway!

Kindness | LISTEN! You don’t know all of the intricacies of someone else’s story, and if you take the time to listen to others, understanding that you have an opportunity to learn from them, that consideration will take you further than any knowledge or skill can. Also- remember that kindness translates to honesty. Tell others the truth, especially when you notice something wonderful about them. Don’t create fallacies because you’re trying to be “nice” or make excuses. Just tell the truth!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is a kind-hearted, thoughtful, creative person who is a high-achiever in her own right. This does not necessarily mean that these high achievers have the largest sums of money in their bank accounts; sometimes people achieve success by being organized, giving to charity, paying off debts, or simply serving those who need them most. Success and Achievement mean different things to different people. So, if you feel you are a high-achiever and operate with integrity, kindness, and authenticity, chances are, we would likely work well together.
