Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katherine Rose Woller. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katherine Rose, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I’ve always believed in the liberating impact and life affirming power of storytelling, but I never felt like I had the “right” story to tell–one that could really help others and positively impact their journeys. That is until I called off my engagement to a partner who was not meant for me just two weeks before we were supposed to be married.
When I was clawing my way through the season of my failed engagement, I sought any resource that could make me feel seen, or even marginally less alone. I craved an honest conversation about the trials I was experiencing, and ultimately the reassurance that it would all work out even better in the end.
When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I knew I finally had a story to share, and the result of that inspiration is my book, Calling It Off: Memoir of an Almost Bride. I had found my purpose, and by sharing my story, I hope to challenge societal stigmas, and create a community where belonging is undeniable.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Professionally, while I was formerly a full-time marketing strategist who spent her nights writing on the side, these days, I have taken a step away from the marketing world to focus solely on writing and sharing stories that I hope can have a deep and meaningful impact on those who read them.
In my debut memoir, Calling It Off: Memoir of an Almost Bride, which was published on February 3, 2025, I use my hard-fought growth, honest reflection, and vulnerability to share my ultimately flawed human experience. Highlighting the realities of what it’s like to not just call off a wedding, but to choose yourself when you’ve reached a daunting crossroads, my memoir explores deep questions of self reflection, trust, and intuition.
Most excitingly for me, many readers have shared that reading the book feels like having a conversation with their best friend. This connection with my voice and the familiar conversation feel is exactly what I was aiming for, and I hope that allows readers to really dive into the story and understand the emotions, reflections and growth behind it.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me, the three most important qualities were courage, self-love, and self-trust. To me, it all comes back to self-trust and cultivating a deep and meaningful relationship with oneself. Learning to first hear, and then trust those tiny whispers enough to follow your intuition is a skill that takes continuous and proactive practice, though it does come more easily with time. Trusting yourself is a courageous act that often requires stepping through fear, but it ultimately leads to a belief in your own decision-making power and once again, more self-trust. It builds.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Now that my book is published, it is the never-ending challenge of being seen and heard through all of the noise out there. Even as a marketer, it can be hard to know how best to spread the message of the book and connect with those who can really benefit. There are endless recommendations, sure, especially around social media, but not every tactic feels authentic to me and the brand I’m trying to build.
As a result, I’m really having to come back to myself as a person first, remembering what I value and what lights me up, and then purposefully choosing those opportunities that really align with the core aspects of my life.
From there, I hope the book will naturally make a splash and bring insight to readers.
I guess we will have to wait and see!
