Meet Dani Skinner

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dani Skinner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dani, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from knowing it is a choice, and that whatever I choose to see as possible can be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I created a Beer Garden and Food Truck space in Leadville CO. We use it for community gatherings, yoga & sauna sessions, events, and a place to just come relax with some friends or family.

One of the most exciting things about this space is that we are open to growing in any ways that feel useful to our community. I’m trying to create a space where a multitude of small businesses can be prosperous. A space that doesn’t quite fit any mold, and can be used for our ever-evolving needs and ideas.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creative Vision, self belief, dedication to my vision.

I would say to do your best to have moments of calm and meditation. Whether it’s walking through the woods, or taking 5 minutes to pause and breathe.

For me, moments of inspiration came when I had enough pause to have them. I think it can be easy to get swept up in all the “to-dos” and incredibly overwhelming.

There can be so much “red tape” and “brick walls” that you need to overcome when starting. The only way I got through them was by taking a pause, taking care of myself, and believing in what I was trying to create.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, absolutely! I am mainly looking for food trucks, farmers, and other food vendors at the moment. I am seeking vendors who want to be full time, part time, or occasional. They can email me at Danielleskinner@aleyak.com
