Meet Hillary Adams

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hillary Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hillary, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

My personal creativity is kept alive by immersing myself in new experiences, connecting with others who inspire me and continually learning. I find inspiration in everyday moments, whether it’s through nature, photography or working with animals. Staying curious and open to new ideas fuels my imagination, while dedicating time to my passions, like pet care and photography, allows me to express myself creatively. Collaborating with others and seeking fresh perspectives also play a big role in keeping my creativity thriving.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am the owner of M & N Pet Services, a pet sitting and dog walking business that goes beyond basic care we focus on trust, comfort and forming genuine connections with every pet. What sets us apart is our experience with medical needs, behavior training and rescue advocacy as well as our commitment to providing detailed updates with pictures and videos after every visit. My passion has always been working with animals and this business allows me to create a safe, loving space for pets while giving owners peace of mind.

One of the most exciting aspects of my work is helping pets with trust issues, anxiety and reactivity. I specialize in behavior training and leash work, ensuring that every pet in my care feels safe and understood. Whether it’s a nervous rescue learning to trust or a high energy pup needing structured walks, I love tailoring my approach to each individual animal.

On the business side, I’m always looking to grow and improve. Some exciting new ventures include:

Expanding our services to offer boarding, grooming services for even more convenience.

Launching our own line of pet supplies, including leashes, harnesses and poop bags, to enhance safety and comfort during walks.

Continuing community involvement through rescue advocacy and events like our recent Howl-o-ween Costume Contest for pets.

At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for animals. M & N Pet Services is more than just a pet care business, it’s a place where pets are treated like family. I’m incredibly grateful for the trust my clients place in me and excited to continue growing and serving the community.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Patience & Adaptability: Working with animals means every day is different. Some pets have anxiety, medical needs or behavioral challenges and it takes patience to earn their trust. Learning to adapt to each pets unique personality and needs has been crucial. My advice for those starting out is to observe, listen and never rush the process, trust is built over time.

Continuous Learning & Specialization: Understanding animal behavior, body language and training techniques has helped me stand out. I’ve spent years researching and applying what I learn to help pets with trust issues, leash reactivity, and anxiety. For newcomers, I recommend investing in education whether it’s reading, attending workshops or working with experienced professionals. The more you know, the better you can serve both pets and their owners.

Strong Communication & Client Trust:
Pet care isn’t just about the animals, it’s also about reassuring their owners. Providing detailed updates, photos and videos after every visit builds trust and strengthens client relationships. My advice? Prioritize clear, honest and compassionate communication. Make sure pet owners feel confident and informed about their pets well being.

For anyone just starting their journey, be patient, keep learning and always lead with kindness, both with animals and their humans. Growth comes with time and experience, but a strong foundation in these areas will set you up for success.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely! I am always open to partnering and collaborating with like minded individuals and businesses that share a passion for pets and their well being. At M & N Pet Services, my goal is to provide the best care possible and I love working with others who can help enhance the services and resources available to pets and their owners.

I would love to collaborate with:

Pet groomers and trainers who offer specialized services that complement what I do, so we can provide a well rounded experience for pets.

Veterinarians and pet health professionals to ensure the best care and education for pet owners.

Rescue organizations and shelters to advocate for adoptable pets and provide support for those transitioning into their forever homes.

Pet supply brands looking to showcase quality products that benefit pets and their owners.
