We were lucky to catch up with José Luis Chacin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi José Luis, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Firstly, it is centered on a lot of faith in God and his promises, additionally, increasing mental strength through reading different books on leadership and personal growth, which are manifested in a clear resilience in every event of my life every day, with the firm belief that I will always achieve the goals set and overcome the different adversities, finally achieving success in each objective.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As an authorized distributor of a prestigious brand in the United States and several Latin American countries, my wife, Massiel Muñoz de Chacin, who is my principal partner, and our team in Dallas, Texas, are dedicated to training small business owners so that they can become great entrepreneurs in the medium and long term. We share the business plan and compensation offered by our great business partner, aligned with a change of mentality and growing leadership, always working as a team. Likewise, for our clients, we help them obtain top-quality products for their homes and offer practically free after-sales service. This is truly defined by the satisfaction of our team and customers.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
We can talk about different skills, however, I’ll mention what I consider to be the most relevant:
1. Continuous training for the shift to an abundance mindset and leadership that pays off by helping and training more people.
2. Expansive financial education, both in your personal and professional life, monitoring monthly income and expenses.
3. Permanent determination and discipline in everything we do.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
I can say that the book How to Win Friends and Influence People has been very relevant to maintain good interpersonal relationships and grow your team, but above all, I always recommend reading the Bible, which is the greatest of all books for increasing faith and wisdom.
