Alvin, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
For me overcoming imposter syndrome was easy because I always knew what I didn’t want to become. So as a child I knew I wanted to be a father figure when it came to be that and eventually that would lead to being a husband and a strong family foundation.

I learned that developing myself to be who I wanted to be in the long run helped shaped who I became as I went through different lessons and experiences in life.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At the core I am an artist but saying that puts a limit on what i actually do. Creating, inspiring, molding is all a part of making art. Sometimes we create from scratch, sometimes ideas come from inspiration.

Musically you can find my audio on all streaming platforms under my artist name AtotheVee.

I also create multimedia art and fashion under my business umbrella called 6th planet. New products will be launching this summer including new designs and collaborative work.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Networking is one of the biggest skills you can have in any market or industry. You must be able to create with like minds and be able to open the closed minds.

Resilience is also important to have because you will hear alot of negative and people who don’t see or support your ideas in their infancy.

You gotta be able to drive your goals. Some people call it motivation. Whatever you want to call it you gotta be able to put a fire under yourself and be self motivated.

As far as anybody reading this looking to take their first steps toward their financial independence just try to be well informed so that when you make these decisions to build a foundation for your business or idea you are able to think for the long term. Alot of people want right now money and sometimes its easy but to make money over the long run is the goal.
