Meet Brandon Dang

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandon Dang. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandon below.

Hi Brandon, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Finding my purpose within the EDM/DJ scene was automatic, it was something I always wanted to do growing up just for the love of the music, so when 2019 came around I got my first ever DJ controller and the rest was history. There is no doubt that I felt some kind of fear or doubt if I was capable of doing something like this but after watching countless tutorials and practicing in the confinements of my bedroom, Noodz was born and the pure love and joy I got from playing out tracks that I love, gave me a purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hello, my name is Brandon, but most know me as “NOODZ.” I’m an electronic DJ and artist based in the DFW metroplex, known for delivering a “Rude” sound profile—a fusion of hard-hitting hip-hop vocals with techno, house, and bass music. My goal is always to craft an experience that pushes boundaries while staying true to my roots.

From playing shows across Dallas with “Gone Rude,” a DJ collective I’m proud to be a part of, to providing direct support for some of the biggest rising stars in the EDM scene, my focus is on elevating every set. I want to surprise the crowd—playing tracks they didn’t expect but end up loving. Moments like those fuel my passion and make this journey worth it.

A major milestone for me in 2025 was securing a spot at a music festival—something I’ve dreamed about for years. That dream is now a reality, as I’ll be performing at Breakaway Music Festival in Dallas on April 5th. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of my team at “Gone Rude” and the amazing Dallas DJ community.

Not only are festivals on the horizon, but our debut track and EP are also top priorities for us. We’re pushing hard to bring it all together for a summer release.

This is just the beginning, and I’m excited for what’s next. The goal is always to raise the bar, stay authentic, and keep bringing something fresh to the scene.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three key qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are networking, believing in my brand, and creative direction.

Networking:
One of the biggest challenges every beginner DJ faces is getting their name and brand out there. Early on, I struggled to book shows consistently—if I was lucky, I’d get to play once every few months. A big reason for this was my own complacency and fear of putting myself out there. I was hesitant to approach people, introducing myself, and actively seek opportunities.

The biggest turning point in my career was realizing the power of simply showing up and talking to people. Whether it’s at a venue you want to play at or a club you admire, engaging with staff, DJs, and promoters—even just a quick introduction—can go a long way. There’s no single formula for success, but one constant across all creative fields is the power of connections. Your work needs to be great, but people also need to know you exist.

Believing in Your Brand:
Confidence in your brand is something that people can see and feel. Whether it’s your sound, your visual identity, or your overall creative aesthetic, owning it is what makes you stand out. If you don’t believe in what you’re putting out, others won’t either.

Authenticity is key—when you love what you do and fully commit to your brand, things start falling into place. People are drawn to energy that feels real, so the more you embrace your own vision, the more others will connect with it.

Creative Direction:
As a DJ, one of the most important things is figuring out what makes you you. Is it the music you play? The persona you bring to the stage? The way you engage with the crowd? Having a clear creative direction adds depth to your brand and can open unexpected doors.

When you commit to a unique style or perspective, you create something that resonates beyond just the music. This can lead to opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise—whether it’s collaborations, branding deals, or new creative ventures. The key is to define your voice and lean into it.

For anyone starting their journey, my advice is simple: put yourself out there, trust in your brand, and find what sets you apart. Opportunities come to those who make themselves seen and heard.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Collaboration has always been a big focus for me, especially when it comes to expanding Gone Rude beyond the Dallas market. Gone Rude is a group made up of myself (NOODZ), Mursa, Effy, Miss T, and our manager, Roland. Together, our goal is to continue performing at more events, festivals, and shows, pushing the boundaries of what we do.

We’re aiming to work with promotional groups like Disco Donnie Presents and Insomniac in the future—these are some of the heavy hitters we’re striving to collaborate with as we grow.

Collaboration is something I’m passionate about, and it’s a value that’s shared by the whole Gone Rude team. Whether it’s with artists, producers, or event promoters, we’re always looking for ways to connect and create something new. Our vision is to perform all over Texas and the United States, bringing our signature “Rude” heavy-hitting energy and offering a fresh take on every event.

If you’re interested in collaborating, I’d love to connect! Feel free to reach out—let’s make something amazing together.
