Meet TIFFANY HARMS

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful TIFFANY HARMS. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with TIFFANY below.

Hi TIFFANY, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my parents. My father started working at 14, and my mother always worked while we were growing up. I watched them go from renting a single room to owning a five-bedroom home—all because of their dedication and hard work. Seeing their journey firsthand taught me that success isn’t given; it’s earned. If you truly want something, you have to put in the effort, stay committed, and never give up. That mindset has shaped how I approach my work every day.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have been a mobile notary and loan signing agent for 14 years, serving Southern California with professionalism and dedication. While I love what I do, my passion goes beyond just notarizing documents—I’m committed to building a thriving notary community. I’ve created a network of over 175 notaries, where we support each other, share knowledge, and grow together.

Helping others has always been a dream of mine, and this community has given me even more purpose. Every day, I’m inspired to be better—not just for myself, but for the notaries I mentor and work alongside.

This year, my goal is to complete 500 signings while continuing to expand my reach, educate new notaries, and create opportunities for all of us to thrive in this industry. I also have exciting events coming up, including a panel discussion in April featuring successful signing company owners and a hands-on loan signing training class in May.

For anyone looking for a dedicated notary or a supportive notary network, I’d love to connect!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, dedication, and hustle. In my industry, not everyone needs a notary every day, so staying motivated and consistently showing up is key. When I do get hired, I always give 125% because I know that every interaction is an opportunity to build trust, gain referrals, and grow my reputation.

For those starting their own small business journey, my biggest advice is to remember: you are your business. How you present yourself, the effort you put in, and the way you treat clients all shape your success. Stay consistent, go the extra mile, and never stop learning. The more you invest in yourself, the more your business will grow.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

Right now, my biggest obstacle is balancing growth with family time. As my notary business expands and my community of notaries grows, I’m constantly finding ways to juggle both without sacrificing what matters most. Time management is key, and while it’s a challenge, I’m learning how to structure my days more efficiently, set boundaries, and prioritize what’s truly important. Somehow, I’m making it work—and I remind myself daily that success isn’t just about business growth, but also about creating a life that aligns with my values, especially with my husband and our two sons.
