Meet Alexi Adam

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexi Adam. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexi below.

Alexi, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

When I started Psalm Beauty in late 2023, it wasn’t because I lacked other options. I had a degree. I had an esthetician license. But out of everything I was trained to do, makeup was the one thing I was fully confident in and gave me confidence. There was something about the way I could transform someone’s features, enhance their natural beauty, and give them a sense of radiance and joy. It wasn’t just about artistry—it was about making people feel beautiful, seen, and special. For me, confidence wasn’t something that just appeared—it was something I had to grow into, something that God had to reveal to me over time. And at the heart of my confidence, at the core of my self-esteem, is the understanding that I am walking in the gifts He gave me.

I believe God gives each of us unique gifts, and when we lean into them, we step into our purpose. Makeup artistry and entrepreneurship—those were my gifts. And when I realized that, truly accepted it, I ran with it. I didn’t second-guess whether or not I was “good enough.” I trusted that if God put this passion inside me, He would also equip me with everything I needed to succeed.

It wasn’t just about confidence in my craft; it became confidence in myself. Confidence that I could build a brand, that I could make a name for myself in an industry that requires both talent and presence. As a makeup artist, I am the face of my brand. I have to show up, not just with skill, but with self-assurance. If I didn’t believe in my own beauty—inside and out—how could I help others see theirs?

Psalm Beauty is more than a business to me. It is an extension of my faith, a testament to what happens when you trust in God’s plan and step into your calling with courage. My confidence didn’t come from external validation. It came from knowing that I am doing exactly what I was created to do. And that, more than anything else, is what keeps me moving forward.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At Psalm Beauty, we specialize in luxury bridal hair and makeup, ensuring that every bride feels radiant, confident, and truly herself on her special day. To further introduce myself, my name is Alexi Adam, founder and owner of Psalm Beauty. Although my love for makeup artistry began in the bridal world, my passion for makeup extends far beyond bridal—I absolutely thrive on creating looks for any occasion, from making young girls feel beautiful for school dances to glamming celebrities for their biggest events, and creating stunning, editorial looks for styled photo shoots.

I am also pleased to announce we now offer in-person makeup courses in Dallas! Whether you’re looking for a fun, girly pajama party experience with your friends or a one-on-one session to refine your skills, our courses provide in-depth, hands-on education tailored to your needs. Psalm Beauty is more than just a service—it’s a community where beauty, confidence, and artistry come together to inspire and empower.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Throughout my journey, the biggest quality I developed was faith—faith in God’s plan, faith in my talent, and faith that I belonged in this space. The most valuable skill I’ve gained is networking. I never realized how crucial it is in business to put yourself out there, start conversations, and build relationships. As someone naturally quiet, I’ve missed opportunities simply by not speaking up enough, and that’s something I continue to work on. Lastly, one of the most impactful areas of knowledge I’ve gained is the importance of industry connections. The bridal world is filled with talented vendors—photographers, florists, videographers, bridal boutiques, and even other makeup artists. Building relationships within this network has opened doors I never could have imagined. Faith in yourself and your work, networking, and industry connections—these three things have been my personal keys to success.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I love collaborating with like-minded creatives who share a passion for beauty, artistry, and creating unforgettable experiences. I’m always looking to connect with photographers, bridal boutiques, florists, event planners, and especially other local makeup artists. I truly believe in community over competition, and I love working alongside other artists to support, learn from, and grow with each other. Whether it’s for a bridal project, styled shoot, or beauty-related content, I’m always open to new collaborations. I also welcome opportunities to work with influencers and brands that value high-quality, luxury beauty services, I would love to connect through instagram or via email.
