Meet Cindy Witteman

We were lucky to catch up with Cindy Witteman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Cindy, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

Growing up without basic necessities, sometimes without running water, electricity, or reliable transportation, I learned firsthand how challenging life can be when you lack even the simplest comforts. There were times when our situation left us without groceries or essential items that most people take for granted. In those moments, the kindness of others made all the difference. People would help us get to a food bank, piece together enough money to restore our utilities, or simply offer hand me down shoes and clothes. That generosity, shown to me during some of my most vulnerable moments, has inspired me to give back. I carry that compassion with me today, always ready to help others who find themselves in need.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m Cindy Witteman, and my work is all about creating positive change, empowering others, and transforming challenges into opportunities. Based in San Antonio, Texas, I am the Founder and Editor in Chief of FORCE Magazine, a platform where stories of resilience and empowerment come alive. As a 5x bestselling author and the host of the Little Give TV Show, I share insights and real life strategies that help people overcome obstacles and embrace the power of determination.

What I find most exciting about my work is the genuine connection I form with people from all walks of life. Witnessing the ripple effect of hope that even a small act of kindness can create fuels my passion every day. In 2017, I founded Driving Single Parents Inc. inspired by my own experiences as a former single parent who faced overwhelming challenges. This nonprofit provides reliable vehicles to single parent families at no cost, offering them a lifeline and a chance to thrive. It is a project that goes beyond providing transportation and is about empowering families to rewrite their futures.

In addition to my work in publishing and nonprofit leadership, I also serve as an Action Mastery Specialist. Through coaching and speaking engagements, I help individuals take decisive, practical steps toward achieving their dreams by sharing strategies rooted in positivity, determination, and gratitude. Outside of my professional life, I cherish every moment with my blended family and find joy in tending to my beehives, a passion that keeps me connected to nature and grounded in life’s simple pleasures.

Every project I undertake is driven by my commitment to uplift others and create a lasting impact. I invite you to join me on this journey of transformation and empowerment, where every Little Give can spark a wave of hope and change.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, I believe the three most impactful qualities have been resilience, compassion, and the ability to take decisive action.

Resilience has been my cornerstone. Facing challenges head-on taught me that setbacks are simply setups for growth. For those just starting out, embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn. Build resilience by setting small, achievable goals and reflecting on your progress along the way.

Compassion has fueled my ability to connect with others. It’s through genuine empathy that I’ve built lasting relationships and supported communities in need. If you’re early in your journey, practice active listening and try to understand the experiences of those around you. This will not only enrich your perspective but also help you forge meaningful connections.

Lastly, the skill of taking decisive action has been key. Whether it was launching a nonprofit or stepping into a leadership role, I learned that clarity of purpose and a willingness to act can transform dreams into reality. For newcomers, start by breaking your goals into manageable steps, and don’t be afraid to make decisions even if the path isn’t perfectly clear. Celebrate small wins and use them as motivation to keep pushing forward.

Each of these qualities can be cultivated over time with patience, practice, and a supportive community by your side. Embrace your journey with an open heart, and remember that every step you take is a move toward a brighter future.
