Meet Alexis Diaz

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexis Diaz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alexis , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

Creativity can manifest in many ways. For me, one of the most effective ways to keep my creativity alive is by trying new things that ultimately make me a better artist.

As an actor, you don’t always know when the next gig will come, so I’ve worn many hats over the years—including in the present day. Fortunately, I’ve always been able to work in the restaurant business. I used to feel defeated, thinking I was spending more time bartending than booking acting roles.

One day, it hit me: bartending is just like an acting gig. I realized I was essentially getting paid to be in an acting class rather than paying for one. Once I had this epiphany, my perspective shifted. Suddenly, each shift became an opportunity to play multiple characters. It became fun, and I found myself keeping my creativity alive while honing my acting skills. After all, working in a restaurant means dealing with all kinds of customers—some wonderful, some challenging—and they really push you to your limits.

I also tap into my creativity by crafting drinks, experimenting with different combinations, and memorizing recipes. For me, this feels a lot like learning a script—it’s challenging yet enjoyable.

Finding ways to nurture your creative flow in everyday life is possible; it just requires thinking outside the box, moving with confidence, and most importantly, having fun.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hi, my name is Alexis Diaz. I am a Puerto Rican originally from New York. I am an actress, model, and entrepreneur. From early on, I knew I wanted to be an actress. I loved theater and enjoyed bringing characters to life. I love modeling because it’s another powerful form of storytelling, allowing me to express emotions and connect with audiences in a unique way.

The entertainment world is filled with uncertainty, and while it is and will always be my passion, I’ve learned that I can pursue other opportunities that provide income to support my life. Exploring different ventures has also enriched my journey, showing me that I can excel in various areas besides acting and still feel fulfilled.

Family has always been incredibly important to me, and their love and support have been a guiding force throughout my journey. Over the years, bartending has been the one constant I could always rely on to make money while still having the time and flexibility to focus on my acting career. Friends and family often told me that I should sell the drinks I created, so this past year, my friend—now also a business partner—and I started our own company, Drink L3x (pronounced Drink Lex). We’ve faced many hurdles throughout this process, but I’m happy to share that this spring, we will be releasing a mocktail book titled *Mindfully Made*. We created this book to share fun, creative recipes that people can make at home—without the next-day hangover.

In addition to my work as an actress and entrepreneur, I have built a presence on social media where I share insights about meditation, manifestation, and positive mindset practices. I believe in the power of aligning your thoughts and energy with your goals, and I love encouraging others to tap into their own potential through mindfulness and intentional thinking.

This chapter of my life has been filled with excitement and fear but, most of all, love and support from my boyfriend, friends, and family. If you had told me years ago that I would own my own company or become an author, I might have laughed in disbelief.

If there’s one thing I can share with readers, it’s this: Never give up on yourself. Believe that there is always a way. The road may not be easy, and it may take longer than you hoped, but it will all be worth it in the end—knowing that you pushed forward, tried your best, and embraced the lessons you learned along the way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Wow, ok, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey. One of the most impactful qualities in my journey has been determination. I believe it’s one of the most important traits to have. From the beginning, I knew — and still know — that acting is what I’m meant to do. Over the years, that determination has pushed me to keep going. It motivated me to pursue more roles and continually improve as an actor with each opportunity that came my way.

Memorization has been an invaluable skill throughout my journey. Whether it’s learning lines, crafting drink recipes, remembering customer orders, or recalling the names and birthdays of friends and family, this ability has consistently proven essential. It has allowed me to stay organized, build stronger connections with people, and confidently manage multiple responsibilities. Memorization not only supports my acting career but has also enhanced my ability to excel in business and personal relationships.
Now, this last one is both a quality and a skill that I believe comes naturally — empathy. Empathy has been the most impactful trait in my journey and my life. As someone who naturally connects with others, I can see situations from all sides. I’ve always been able to find the good in something, no matter what it was. I approach conversations — whether with family, friends, coworkers, customers, or even strangers — with empathy. Being an empath is a fundamental part of who I am, and I truly believe it has shaped me into the person I am today.
The best advice I can give to anyone in the early stages of their journey would be to move with patience. Never be afraid to ask questions, and always know there is room for growth. This world is always growing and changing, and we should be doing the same — growing and evolving. Keep going — you’ve got this.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Collaboration is at the heart of creativity, and I’m always eager to connect with fellow actors, writers,
