We recently connected with Cameron Gray and have shared our conversation below.

Cameron, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
The best way that I keep my creativity alive is to never be satisfied. I’ve reached a level in my career where a lot of people may not work as hard and begin to go with the flow, but not me. I work extremely hard at staying in the loop with which celebrities are popular at the time and working out brand deals with them. As well as, pulling ideas from pop culture for my creative branding shoot ideas.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the owner of RICH Pieces Hair. We are a celebrity-preferred virgin hair extensions company at affordable prices. I have worked with Moniece Slaughter, Tami Roman, Coco Jones, Stunna Girl, Kimora Lee Simmons, Sexyy Red, Mickey Guyton, Lakeyah, Amber Rose, and many more! Celebrity clients are great, but at RICH Pieces Hair our goal is to make EVERYONE feel like a celebrity. There is nothing more special that waking up everyday and working with public figures that you’ve admired your entire life!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three things that have been most impactful on my journey would be resilience, change, and risks. Resilience is not giving up when things aren’t going as planned. Owning a business is HARD WORK it’s an endless cycle of doubt wondering if what you are building is going to last. Wake up everyday and give it your ALL.. God will meet you the rest of the way. Change is often given a negative connotation. Things don’t stay the same forever, it’s important to make changes as they are needed, The way things worked when I began my business in 2016 are COMPLETELY different than they are now. Most changes in business occur in the marketing aspect of getting your product or service in front of customers. Risks are probably my most favorite one. EVERYONE who is successful had to take risks. Risks look like doing things that you’ve never seen anyone else you know do or sacrificing certain aspects of your personal life to pour more into your business. Risks in business these days are mainly monetary. Although you may not want to spend your money on certain things you have to have faith that they will come back MULTIPLIED. If you get an idea and it keeps coming back, I feel as if that’s the universe telling you to act upon it; this has been my whole belief system.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
“Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter” by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was by far one of the best books in terms of business I have ever read. It offers a 21st century approach to building wealth. A lot of similar books may come off as confusing, but he writes in a way that everybody can understand it. What stood out to me was when he talks about how we should look to hanging out with people with more knowledge than us and we should be a sponge and look for new opportunities to learn. Also that road blocks occur, but we should never let those make us forget the reason that we started and our end goal.
