We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lylelana. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lylelana below.
Lylelana , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
From my two incredible grandmothers who also happen to be sisters. I love them both deeply, and they’ve taught me so much. One tends to be a worrier, while the other is optimistic. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how their mindsets shaped their well-being. My grandmother who constantly worried struggled with serious health issues and insomnia. Meanwhile, my optimistic grandmother remained healthy and always found the silver lining in life.
Seeing this contrast made me realize something powerful: worry and optimism take the same amount of energy. I have a choice in how I see the world, and I choose what supports my well-being. I’ve been on the other side caught in cycles of worrying, stress, and eventually depression which took a real toll on my health. That experience taught me that shifting my mindset isn’t just about feeling better, it’s also about living better. Now, I do my best to stay optimistic while seeing reality with a broader perspective.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a Holistic Life coach, Astrologer, and Akashic records practitioner. My mission is to empower women to gain crystal clarity on how unique they are from strengths, talents, gifts, what they’re meant for, and how to step into their inner power. It’s my passion and life’s work.
I come from a corporate background in New York City’s fashion industry as a product developer and for a decade, I believed that my path was to climb the corporate ladder but deep down, I knew I was meant for more. Trusting that calling led me to the transformative work I do today.
I am “woo” but I am also practical.
Through one-on-one sessions, events, and workshops both locally and internationally, I guide women to unlock their fullest potential and create a life that truly aligns with them.
I also have a podcast called Rewakening Within.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are:
Curiosity, staying hungry for growth – Ever since I was young, I’ve always been deeply curious about life, constantly seeking to understand myself, the people, and the world around me. This never-ending quest for knowledge and evolution has impacted who I am as someone who is interested in personal growth and continues to explore and live my full potential.
Courage and passion to go for what I want – Having the courage to go after what I want has been essential. As an immigrant, I moved to New York at age 20 to start a new life. I’ve moved countries, cities, and changed different careers since then. Those leaps required the courage to follow my heart and a willingness to embrace and trust the unknown.
Treating others with kindness and respect – My grandmothers always taught me that kindness goes a long way. It’s not about being overly nice, it’s about showing up with genuine compassion, free of judgment, because we never truly know what someone else is going through.
For those just starting their journey, here’s my advice: commit to continuously growing. You’re not in competition with anyone but yourself, strive to be better than you were yesterday. Study, learn about yourself, and expand your perspective through books, courses, travel if you can, mentors and new real life experiences. Keep asking questions. Keep evolving.
When you want something, go for it. Ask yourself, What’s the worst that could happen? Let your passions guide you, and if it excites you and won’t put you in danger, go all in. And lastly, treat others with the same respect and compassion you’d want for yourself. When you live this way, I believe you’ll find a deep sense of peace within.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My two dear grandmothers, Esmeralda and Ernestina whom I mentioned earlier, have been the most influential in shaping me. Despite their different personalities and careers, they both instilled in me to always have integrity, emotional resilience, and a strong work ethic. They were a little bit strict with me and now I understand why it’s necessary. They have always encouraged me to improve myself constantly. These lessons have guided me through every phase of my life, from career transitions to relationships.
They also taught me the power of spirituality and prayer, the reminder that no matter what challenges arise, there is always a higher power guiding me along the way.
