Meet Shana Adler

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shana Adler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Shana, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think from an early age I knew it was up to me to make a life for myself. It was “how” and “when” not “if.” And now I have 4 kids so 4 more reasons to keep pushing, keep fighting.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Shana; I am a mom of four and I own 2 kids hair salons. At Pigtails & Crewcuts, everything from the decor to the styling chairs is tailored to create a welcoming and entertaining environment for children. Kids can sit in fun, vehicle-themed chairs shaped like airplanes, police cars, or fire trucks, turning the haircut experience into a playful adventure. The colorful, vibrant interiors are designed to spark joy and reduce any apprehension a child may feel about getting a haircut.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think my persistence, resilience, and work ethic have always been at the forefront of my journey. My advice would be to see success as a definite end goal, not an option. With that in mind, you will do whatever it takes. And it’s okay to ask for help and advice along the way. Know what you know, learn what you don’t.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

I think you need to put effort into what works. We can’t become different people. Why spend your life trying to be someone else when you can just be your best self?
