Abhilasha , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Growing up in India in the 1980s, societal expectations often revolved around men being the achievers and women staying within traditional roles. However, my parents broke that norm. They raised my brother and me with complete equality, always encouraging me to pursue every opportunity that came my way. Failure was never frowned upon—instead, it was seen as a chance to learn and grow. That mindset became a habit, and over time, my life mantra. Today, I approach every situation with optimism, knowing that there’s always something valuable to take away from it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Abhilasha Singh, and my journey in the world of beauty has been anything but conventional. I started my career in India, where I was honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 Bridal Makeup Artists and had the privilege of working with celebrities in the Bollywood industry. I also served as the Creative and Business Head of Makeup at Jean Claude Biguine Salons and Spa, where I honed both my artistic and leadership skills.
In 2018, love brought me to the United States—I moved here after meeting the man who became my husband. It was a leap of faith in every way: I left behind an established career and started from scratch in a new country. I enrolled in cosmetology school in San Francisco, determined to rebuild my career with the same passion and dedication I had in India.
Today, I am a Certified in 2 countries in USA and India as certified Cosmetologist and own a Business of Bridal Hair & Makeup based in the Bay Area with a team of 20 skillful artists in California. With over 1,000 happy clients across the U.S., I now lead an elite team that travels nationwide to deliver luxury bridal beauty experiences. Making every bride feel radiant and confident on their special day is not just my profession—it’s my calling.
Alongside my bridal business, I’ve also launched TheAgelessBox®, a clean, Ayurvedic-inspired skincare brand that blends ancient wisdom with modern science. Each product is thoughtfully crafted with a focus on holistic beauty, natural ingredients, and sustainable luxury. TheAgelessBox® is my way of sharing the rituals I grew up with in India, reimagined for the modern, mindful woman.
My story is one of reinvention, resilience, and relentless passion—and I’m proud to say I’m just getting started.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’ve never been one to worry about what others think of me. My focus has always been on passion, resilience, and a relentless drive to master my craft. From the very beginning, I’ve believed that if you’re starting out as an artist, you have to act like you’re the only horse in the race—fully committed, always learning, and constantly striving to be the best version of yourself.
As an entrepreneur, that mindset has only deepened. I’m still learning every single day, and I often look up to more established business leaders and the mantras that guide their success. With Makeup By Abhilasha Singh now an established brand in the U.S., and my second venture, TheAgelessBox®, still in its early but exciting growth phase, I’ve realized that patience, resilience, and a commitment to lifelong learning have been the most impactful elements of my journey so far.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Lately, I’ve been really focusing on my personal growth—spiritually, physically, and mentally. I recently did a full 30-day Ayurvedic detox cleanse, and it was life-changing. It helped me understand how much food affects not just our bodies, but also our minds and moods. I feel more connected to myself than ever before.
I also signed up for some marketing courses to improve my skills and grow as a businesswoman. At the same time, I’ve made my health a priority. I’m working out regularly and feeling fitter and stronger every day.
Meditation is a everyday phenomenon and a must !
Now at 43, my goal is simple: I want to be in the best shape of my life going into this next decade. For me, it’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling strong, staying healthy, and having the energy to keep chasing my dreams. This journey is all about becoming the best version of myself, inside and out.
