Meet Nyah Greene

We recently connected with Nyah Greene and have shared our conversation below.

Nyah, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

Creativity is something that has been a part of who I am since I was much younger and even as an adult. I’m not much of a trend-follower as I am one to try and create new things and see where it goes. I love looking at other mediums of art to keep my creativity flowing. Whether it’s in nature, details in a piece of clothing, a print or texture in food, I see creativity all around me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a professional nail technician and nail artist. I just opened up my own nail studio! Its titled “Nyah The Artisan”. I focus my efforts in growing out healthy natural nails and high quality, handpainted nail art. I’m always so excited to see the results of my clients natural nail growth. I’m even more excited as an artist to produce nail art that gets my clients and myself so excited! Being a business owner now, there’s a lot of hard work that goes into it and what makes it so much more worth it is when a client shows up stressed or tired and leaves happy, relaxed, or just so excited about the nail art they just got. One of my favorite services titled “The Artisan services” are about 2 to 4 hour services where it focuses on a very clean manicure, with detailed cuticle work and high quality, hand painted nail art. This service allows my client to get much more fun and elaborate nail designs.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I would say professionalism, staying healthy, and being satisfied with slow growth are three things that have heavily and positively impacted my journey. When your just starting out, do the best with what you have, be professional and always have good customer service. You may not be exactly where you want to be automatically, because everything takes time. But, try your best, treat people well while having boundaries, and never neglect to take care of your body.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

I don’t have an ideal client, but I’m always excited about meeting a client who is open to creativity and trying out new and interesting things on their nails.
