Meet Jennifer Sucher

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Sucher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jennifer with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I surround myself around powerful women. It is not something that I sought out to do, but I see that I’m drawn to people who are doing amazing things. These women who I am lucky call friends have successful businesses, they are amazing moms, they embrace community, and they are so creative. Seeing what people around me are doing inspires me and pushes me to be better and keep reaching.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am an interior designer. I have worked in this industry for 15 years for other designers who I look up to and have learned a lot from. I have been able to take my range of experiences which have brought me to begin my own venture as an entrepreneur. I have a strong point of view when it comes to design. I have always felt that your space should reflect your best self. It should feel personal, collected, colorful, and tell a story. My goal is always to push my clients, and lead them somewhere that makes their homes feel unique to them, something that can’t just be replicated by the masses.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I always say that it is best to learn on the job. I always knew I wanted to have my own company, but I wouldn’t change my past experiences working beneath other designers for the world. I was able to see how things can be done, while also figuring out what I would do differently. I made mistakes, at someone else’s expense (whoops!), and learned how to handle these situations by observing. I was able to experiment with different styles working for other designers who were vastly different from one another, and this has shaped my own taste today.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would love to have a product line. There are so many unique pieces or solutions that I search high + low for, and I can’t seem to find them! Once I have something in my head, I have to go searching for it. Luckily I work with many amazing artisans who can help me bring these ideas to life. I’d love to make these items more accessible someday.
