Meet Lori Thompson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lori Thompson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lori, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Through my family. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. God has blessed my life in so many ways. The strength to fight to survive breast cancer. It’s a very dark and scary journey. A cancer survivor, 15 yrs. The hardest part of what I endured was seeing children, babies receive their treatments. It broke my heart deeply. I went through a period of survival guilt. I felt I owed God a huge thank you. I decided to give back through writing and art. I am a published author of children’s books. I started reading program in elementary school. Thriller novel that is also an award-winning screenplay, poetry words of my heart and soul, and I am a wildlife advocate in South Lake Tahoe to educate “How to Live in Harmony with the Wildlife in Lake Tahoe”. A purpose for me is to encourage others to follow their dreams, show kindness. To have a gallery that is uniquely different for artists to have confidence and pride in their artwork. To collaborate with the community to be united to succeed and grow together. My websites will give you a deeper sense of my purpose and how I’m achieving this day-by-day to make a difference in someone’s life. Forever grateful to God for my purpose in life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I have artists from my gallery in two restaurants in the Breakwater Cove Marina in Monterey. We’ve been in numerous newspapers, we’re in the Carmel Concept magazine and being released in May in the Travel and Tourism magazine which will be circulated through Northern California.

I am the President of Central Coast Art Association (CCAA )for 3 yrs. I have our association exhibiting in Woodys restaurant in the Monterey airport, we’re exhibiting in multiple events in Monterey County. We have 130 members

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Dream, desire, purpose, business background, knowledge know your audience, research, confidence, business plan realistic time frame, collaborate with the community. Treat people with respect and kindness. Be a leader that leads by example, listen and commit.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Collaborate with businesses to cross promote, other art galleries, schools, and artists. Through my website reflectionselegantegallery.com or [email protected].
