We recently connected with Jennifer Wilson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from a deep passion for what I do and the fulfillment I find in helping others. Working as an injector in aesthetics is incredibly rewarding—there’s nothing like the feeling of making someone feel more confident and beautiful in their own skin. It’s a privilege to be part of that transformation. Additionally, working at The Aesthetics Lounge & Spa, a women-owned business, has always fueled my drive. The environment here encourages empowerment and dedication, which aligns perfectly with my own values. It’s a place where I feel inspired every day to give my best.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m currently working as an injector in the field of aesthetics, and what I love most about my work is the ability to help people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. Every day, I get to make a real difference in people’s lives by enhancing their natural features and boosting their self-esteem. What’s special about this career is that it blends art and science—there’s a creative aspect in shaping and sculpting, and a technical side that requires precision and expertise.
I’m also fortunate to work at The Aesthetics Lounge & Spa, a women-owned business that really resonates with my values. The team here is like family, and we all share the same passion for making people feel their best. The atmosphere is welcoming, empowering, and uplifting, which makes it even more fulfilling to be part of this team.
As for what’s next, I’m always looking for new ways to expand my skills and offer more to my clients. We’ve got some exciting new services coming up at the spa, which I’m really thrilled about. I’m also focusing on continuing my professional development in aesthetics, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends, so I can offer the best and most innovative treatments available. What I’m most passionate about is combining these skills with a personal touch, ensuring every client leaves feeling not just beautiful, but truly seen and valued.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I would say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are passion, attention to detail, and adaptability.
Passion: It’s the driving force behind everything I do. Being truly passionate about helping people feel confident and beautiful has kept me motivated even on the toughest days. If you’re passionate about your work, it doesn’t feel like work—it becomes a fulfilling part of who you are. My advice to those starting out would be to really connect with what excites you and drives you. When you’re passionate, the challenges become easier to overcome.
Attention to Detail: In aesthetics, precision and the smallest details are crucial. Whether it’s understanding the anatomy of the face or mastering the right technique, being detail-oriented makes a huge difference in the outcomes and in building trust with clients. My advice here is to always strive for perfection in the little things. Take your time to learn, refine your skills, and never rush through the process.
Adaptability: The beauty industry, especially aesthetics, is constantly evolving. New treatments, technologies, and trends emerge all the time, and being able to adapt and learn is essential for growth. For those early in their journey, I recommend staying open-minded and continuously learning. Embrace change as an opportunity to improve rather than something to fear.
For anyone starting out, my advice would be to cultivate these qualities early on. Stay curious, be patient with yourself, and never stop learning. The journey is just as important as the destination, and every step you take toward improving these areas will make you stronger, both personally and professionally.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, especially working in aesthetics, I take a moment to step back and breathe. The pressure of working with people’s faces and features can definitely feel intense, as the outcomes are so personal and impactful. I remind myself that it’s okay to take a pause and refocus. I find breaking tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps helps me regain a sense of control. Sometimes even writing a list or prioritizing what needs immediate attention can ease my mind.
A huge part of managing the stress comes from leaning on my support system, whether it’s colleagues, friends, or family. At The Aesthetics Lounge & Spa, our team is incredibly supportive, and knowing I have that sense of camaraderie makes all the difference. I also make sure to prioritize self-care—whether it’s stepping outside for a quick walk, practicing meditation, or simply taking a few minutes to unplug and clear my mind.
For others feeling overwhelmed in this field, my advice is to remember that perfection isn’t always possible, and it’s okay to take your time. There’s a lot of pressure when it comes to working with people’s faces, and the key is to approach each situation with care and confidence. Breaking tasks into smaller, manageable pieces and giving yourself the space to step away when needed can make a big difference. It’s also crucial to remember you don’t have to do it alone—asking for help or sharing concerns with colleagues can provide a much-needed sense of reassurance. Above all, be kind to yourself and take it one step at a time.
