Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lucas Lehman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lucas, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by dreaming big, consistently trying things outside my comfort zone, making mistakes, and persistently and consistently learning and growing as a consequence. The most profound example of this was the production of my original rock musical “Prime!” which was a small success in my home town of Santa Cruz, and then a financial and creative disaster in LA, only to be revisioned and rewritten and produced once again to great success two years later in New York City.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
There are a lot of life coaches out there, but what makes me unique is my wide breadth of life experiences and relationships, and the broad perspective on life and change and fulfillment.
This includes numerous successful business endeavors;
diverse creative accomplishments (novels, screenplays, songs, recordings, rock musical productions, short stories, children’s books, non-fiction book, theatrical and musical performances);
countless trainings and certifications in tantra and coaching; 20 years experience in sexual healing and intimacy work;
In a nutshell, I’m a Creative, and I bring creativity to all that I do. Presently, I bring creativity to the medium of human potential, in service to helping my clients shift to higher levels of consciousness, greater levels of fulfillment, deeper experiences of authentic intimacy.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Curiosity about what I don’t know I don’t know and eagerness to try new things
2. Openness to making mistakes and failing
3. Radical Vulnerability
Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll keep getting what you got. Nobody ever learned anything by getting it right. Move toward your passion with joy and humor and humility
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
I would say that the most impactful thing my parents did for me was show up with integrity. I may not agree with all their values or what they did or didn’t do, but what I appreciate is that they always did what they said they would do. And the security that came with that level of trust and constancy in my foundational relationships provides a sense of groundedness in my being that I’ve discovered is quite rare.
